(NLDO)- Colonel Le Van Dam was appointed by the Minister of Public Security to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Department of Drug Crime Investigation Police.
This afternoon, January 25, in Hanoi, authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the personnel organization agency, the Department of Drug Crime Investigation (Ministry of Public Security) held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Minister of Public Security on personnel work.
At the ceremony, Colonel Hoang Tam Hieu, Deputy Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, announced the decision of the Minister of Public Security to appoint Colonel Le Van Dam, Head of the Department of Prevention and Investigation of Crimes in the field of illegal drug trafficking and transportation (Department 2) to hold the position of Deputy Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department from January 24, 2025.
Authorized by the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Vien, Director of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, presented the decision and presented flowers to congratulate Colonel Le Van Dam.
Speaking at the assignment, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Vien requested Colonel Le Van Dam and the Party Committee and leaders of the Department to consult with the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security on the project to take over the functions and tasks of state management of drug addiction treatment and post-treatment management; carry out tasks under the national target program on drug prevention and control until 2030; proactively grasp the situation, direct the handling and resolution of special projects, cases, and incidents related to drug prevention and control during the Lunar New Year; avoid being passive or surprised in any situation.
Colonel Le Van Dam (48 years old, from Hung Ha, Thai Binh) has nearly 20 years of experience working in the Drug Crime Investigation Police force. Colonel Le Van Dam has directly directed and investigated many major drug cases such as: the discovery of project A720P, dismantling a drug trafficking and transportation ring hidden in industrial rocks in Ho Chi Minh City, seizing 40 kg of synthetic drugs; the discovery of a drug trafficking and transportation ring hidden in electric motors and pig stomachs, seizing 270 kg of drugs; the 822T project, dismantling a drug trafficking and transportation ring led by Vu Hoang Oanh (Oanh Ha), prosecuting 34 defendants, clarifying the subjects who bought and sold 1.6 tons of drugs; the seizure of 1.3 tons of ketamine in Hai Phong and Ha Tinh disguised with cement bags for transportation by sea to a third country for consumption; Project 522H, discovered a drug trafficking and illegal transportation ring from abroad to Vietnam for consumption led by Ly Thanh Huu, 40 years old in Hoc Mon, Ho Chi Minh City, arrested 10 subjects, seized a total of 211 kg of synthetic drugs...
In recognition of his outstanding achievements in drug crime prevention and control, Colonel Le Van Dam was awarded the Medal of Merit by the President three times and many Certificates of Merit by the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Public Security, and People's Committees of provinces and cities.
Currently, the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department has 1 Director and 5 Deputy Directors.
