Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos wishes Bunpimay New Year to President of Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association

On April 8, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam came to congratulate Mr. Boviengkham Vongdara, Member of the Central Executive Committee of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Minister of Technology and Communications, President of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association on the occasion of the traditional Bunpimay New Year.

At the meeting, Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam sent New Year greetings to Mr. Boviengkham Vongdara and his family, as well as all the staff of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association. The Ambassador expressed his joy at the positive signs in Laos' socio-economic development in recent times: inflation decreased, foreign exchange reserves increased, export surplus... He believes that under the leadership of the Party, the direction of the Government and the supervision of the National Assembly, the Lao people will continue to achieve many new achievements in all fields.

The Ambassador affirmed that the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos is a priceless asset founded by President Ho Chi Minh, President Kaysone Phomvihane and President Souphanouvong. This relationship has been preserved and cultivated by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, and is increasingly becoming deeper, more practical and effective.

Emphasizing the traditional close relationship between the two nations, the Ambassador thanked the Lao Party, State and people for their wholehearted and righteous support for Vietnam in the struggle for independence and national reunification, especially in creating favorable conditions for the Vietnamese army and people to enter and liberate the South.

The Ambassador affirmed that Vietnam always gives top priority to strengthening the special relationship with Laos. He highly appreciated the role of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association in propagating and educating the younger generation about the solidarity between the two countries and promoting people-to-people exchanges. He thanked the Association's President Boviengkham Vongdara for facilitating the activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, especially in coordinating to welcome high-ranking Vietnamese delegations in recent times.

The Ambassador expressed his hope that the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to promote its tradition, be an important bridge in people-to-people diplomacy activities, and contribute to nurturing the special solidarity relationship between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and sustainable.

President of the Laos-Vietnam Friendship Association Boviengkham Vongdara agreed with Ambassador Nguyen Minh Tam's assessment, affirming that the vital significance of the special solidarity relationship between the two countries needs to continue to be educated and propagated to future generations.

In the context of many changes in the world, he affirmed that the Lao Party, State and people always stand side by side with Vietnam to preserve and promote the special solidarity. The Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association will continue to promote solidarity activities and people-to-people exchanges, contributing to the effective implementation of agreements between the high-ranking leaders of the two Parties and States.
