The two sides also signed cooperation documents in many fields such as transport connectivity, customs, people's livelihood, education, agricultural trade, press and media, etc. According to Ambassador Ha Vi, the visit has contributed to further strengthening political trust between Vietnam and China. During the meetings and talks, the two sides reaffirmed that the development of bilateral relations will be the priority direction and strategic choice of each country, emphasizing that the development of one country is a development opportunity for the other, and at the same time a positive factor for the development of the region and the world. The two countries also agreed to fully implement the common perception of the top leaders of the two Parties and two countries in the direction of "6 more", promoting the building of the Vietnam - China Community of Shared Future to achieve many substantive results. The visit also contributed to further promoting the trend of substantive cooperation between the two countries. During the meetings and talks, the two sides reached an important common perception on continuing to strengthen economic and trade cooperation, while promoting synchronous "hard connections" such as railways, highways, border gate infrastructure and "soft connections" such as smart customs... The two sides also successfully organized the Vietnam - China Business Forum, thereby leading businesses of the two countries to strengthen deeper cooperation. "By promoting hard and soft connections such as building a railway connecting the two countries, I believe that it will certainly open up an economic corridor for Vietnam to connect to Central Asia and Europe through China. This will turn the northern region of Vietnam into a foreign gateway and continue to consolidate Vietnam's position as a gateway in regional cooperation," Ambassador Ha Vi emphasized. Ambassador Ha Vi also emphasized the importance of the relationship between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Communist Party of China, saying that this is an important political foundation and a key factor for bilateral relations. Strengthening relations in all fields "In my diplomatic career, I have worked in many countries and promoted many bilateral relations, but for Vietnam, I see that the relationship between the two countries has characteristics that other countries do not have," the Chinese Ambassador shared at the press conference. Ambassador Ha Vi reviewed the history of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations, including visits by senior leaders of the two Parties and two countries. The Chinese diplomat reiterated that the first foreign visit in the new position of General Secretary and President To Lam was to China, which "demonstrates Vietnam's high regard for developing Vietnam-China relations". Currently, the construction of the Vietnam-China Community of Shared Future has had a good start, and the substantive cooperation between China and Vietnam has become a "growth point" for bilateral relations. Ambassador Ha Vi reviewed some outstanding results in the cooperation between China and Vietnam in recent times. China is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner. Bilateral trade turnover between China and Vietnam has exceeded 200 billion USD for three consecutive years. In the first 8 months of this year, bilateral trade turnover reached about 167 billion USD, an increase of 19.2% over the same period last year. China is also the largest export market for Vietnamese agricultural products. The inter-country railway in the first 7 months of the year set a record for the volume of goods transported three times. Ambassador Ha Vi said that the construction of the China-Vietnam cross-border railway is being promoted to enhance regional connectivity. According to Ambassador Ha Vi, during the cooperation process, the two sides cannot avoid difficulties, but he believes that as long as both sides have faith, patience and determination, the problems will be resolved satisfactorily. Ambassador Ha Vi also commented that people-to-people exchanges between the two countries have great prospects, being a "potential treasure" of bilateral relations. There are currently about 23,000 Vietnamese students in China, double the number before the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. Regarding tourism, in the first 8 months of 2024, Vietnam welcomed 2.4 million Chinese visitors, accounting for 21.4% of the total number of international visitors with more than 200 round-trip flights per week between the two countries. 2025 marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-China diplomatic relations. The two sides also identified 2025 as the "Vietnam-China Year of Humanitarian Exchange", demonstrating the importance of senior leaders to promoting bilateral relations. Ambassador Ha Vi emphasized that both sides need to make good use of this opportunity, continue to promote the traditional friendship, and let the friendship between the two peoples become a "catalyst" for bilateral relations. Ambassador Ha Vi pointed out that the development of China-Vietnam relations is at an unprecedented high level in decades. However, to turn the political awareness of high-ranking leaders into a roadmap for implementation, both sides need to develop a specific program to take substantive actions.Dantri.com.vn
