On the morning of March 19, at the Z111 Guest House hall ( Thanh Hoa City), the Thanh Hoa Province Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs held its first congress for the 2024-2029 term.

Attending the congress were comrades: Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs; Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Dau Thanh Tung, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives of leaders of departments, agencies, unions, provincial-level associations, along with Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs' families in the province.

Thanh Hoa province has nearly 56,000 martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the resistance wars against French colonialism, American imperialism, and the war to protect the Fatherland and fulfill international obligations; most of the martyrs have no information or their identities have not been determined. To date, there are more than 10,000 martyrs from Thanh Hoa province whose graves are being buried in martyr cemeteries nationwide, of which more than 8,000 martyrs have complete information, more than 2,000 martyrs' graves have partial information), and more than 40,000 martyrs have unknown information about their graves.

Overview of the congress.

In Thanh Hoa province, there are 31 martyrs' cemeteries with a total of 10,950 martyrs' graves from other provinces and Thanh Hoa being buried in the cemeteries (including 6,086 martyrs' graves with full information, 1,652 martyrs' graves with partial information and 3,212 martyrs' graves with unknown information). Thus, the number of martyrs' graves that need to be verified, searched for and supplemented with information is very large, requiring the participation of all levels, sectors, the entire political system and all classes of people.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, comrades: Pham Thi Thanh Thuy, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Commission, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented flower baskets to congratulate the congress.

In recent times, policies for martyrs, their relatives and their families have received careful attention from Party committees, authorities, the Fatherland Front, departments, branches, unions, socio-political organizations and the entire population. However, for many reasons, they have not been able to meet the needs and aspirations of martyrs' relatives and families; especially the need to search for information, search for remains of martyrs and martyrs' families...

Pursuant to the guidance of the Vietnam Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs, the direction of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee on the unification of the policy of establishing the Association; The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 4740/QD-UBND, dated December 13, 2023 on allowing the establishment of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Thanh Hoa province.

Leaders of the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs and Thanh Hoa province presented gifts to Vietnamese Heroic Mothers.

The Association is responsible for coordinating with agencies, units, and localities to carry out activities to honor and show gratitude to martyrs and martyrs' families in the province, supporting martyrs' families to implement the policies of the Party and the State; participating in collecting information using empirical methods and forensic methods to search for martyrs' remains; participating in identifying martyrs' remains with missing information using DNA forensics; supporting relatives and families of martyrs who still have many difficulties in life, participating in giving opinions on issues related to martyrs and martyrs' families; proposing to competent agencies solutions to implement policies and regimes for martyrs and martyrs' relatives in the province.

Speaking at the congress, Lieutenant General Hoang Khanh Hung, Chairman of the Association for Supporting Families of Vietnamese Martyrs and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dau Thanh Tung expressed his infinite gratitude to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the cause of national liberation, national reunification, building and defending the Fatherland; gratitude for the noble sacrifices and losses of the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs and families of martyrs.

Comrade Dau Thanh Tung, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee spoke at the congress.

In order for the Association to support families of martyrs in Thanh Hoa province to operate effectively, practically and ensure compliance with current legal regulations, comrades requested that the Association's activities must strictly comply with the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on the work of people with revolutionary contributions and the approved Charter of the Association. Closely coordinate with the Association to support families of martyrs in Vietnam, authorities, agencies, unions at all levels, political and social organizations in the work of martyrs and relatives of martyrs' families to contribute to supporting Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, unions, relevant agencies and the entire population to do a good job of the work of martyrs and relatives of martyrs' families.

The Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations always pay attention and encourage to attract a large number of people, individuals and organizations with good hearts and affection to actively participate in the activities of "Repaying gratitude" and showing gratitude to martyrs; contributing to making the movement "All people take care of war invalids, martyrs' families, and people with meritorious services to the country" increasingly widespread and effective.

At the same time, the comrades also hope that the Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, relatives of martyrs and families of martyrs continue to promote the revolutionary tradition, strive to improve in life as well as in study, work, production and business to constantly improve their lives; contribute to the homeland and country, become model citizens, exemplary revolutionary families, eternal pride and shining examples for their children and grandchildren to follow...

Launching the Executive Committee of the Association for Supporting Families of Martyrs of Thanh Hoa Province for the 2024 - 2029 term.

The Congress elected the first Executive Committee of the Association to Support Martyrs' Families for the 2024-2029 term, consisting of 27 comrades; Colonel Hoang Van Hanh, former Political Commissar of Division 341 (Military Region 4) was elected Chairman of the Association.
