This morning, June 11, in Dong Ha City, the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and War Veterans in Quang Tri Province held its first Congress for the 2024-2029 term. The Veteran Entrepreneurs and Veterans Doing Business Club was established under the Provincial Veterans Association in 2018. After 5 years of operation, the Club has 85 small and medium enterprises, 50 cooperatives, 97 cooperative groups, 423 farms, 1,149 family farms, 1,182 service business households owned by veterans, attracting more than 10,700 workers. Of which, 4 enterprises have a revenue of over 50 billion VND/year, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province. In order for the Association of Veterans and Businessmen doing business to become an independent and autonomous association operating in accordance with the law on associations, on January 10, 2024, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 40/QD-UBND allowing the establishment of the Association of Veterans and Businessmen doing business in Quang Tri province and assigning the responsibility of organizing the Congress of the Association of Veterans and Businessmen doing business in the province in accordance with the law.
Accordingly, the Association of Veterans and Businessmen of the province is a social organization of veteran entrepreneurs, economic organizations, cooperatives, cooperative groups, farms and family farms owned by veterans. The Association has legal status, its own seal and account; self-insures its own funding and means of transportation. It operates in accordance with Vietnamese law and the Association's Charter approved by the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and is under the State management of the Department of Planning and Investment. The headquarters of the Association of Veterans and Businessmen of the province is located at the Office of the Provincial Association of Veterans (Le Thanh Tong Street, Dong Ha City, Quang Tri Province).

Speaking at the congress, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong emphasized that the establishment of the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Veterans Doing Business in Quang Tri province has met the legitimate requirements and aspirations of Veterans' Association members who are operating in production and business in the province, which is to have an organization to share experiences, exchange, learn, unite and help each other, create links to improve competitiveness, promote production and business development, and protect the rights and legitimate interests of members.
In the coming term, the Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and Veterans Doing Business in Quang Tri province to continue to mobilize members to promote the nature and tradition of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" on the economic front; strongly develop economic types, contributing to the economic restructuring towards green economy, digital economy, and sustainable development.
At the same time, promote propaganda and mobilize comrades who are war veterans and businessmen to join the association; unite and help each other to enrich themselves legitimately, join hands to implement the national program and goals of building new rural areas and sustainable poverty reduction.
Actively participate in social security activities, help policy beneficiaries and children of war veterans. Build relationships in association, cooperation, joint ventures in construction, production, business between enterprises, cooperatives, cooperative groups, farms, and households inside and outside the association...

With a spirit of solidarity and high consensus, the 1st Congress of the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and War Veterans Doing Business in Quang Tri Province, term 2024 - 2029, elected an Executive Committee of 21 members. Mr. Nguyen Duc Truc was elected as Chairman of the Association of Veteran Entrepreneurs and War Veterans Doing Business in Quang Tri Province for the 1st term, term 2024 - 2029.
On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Veterans Association and the Vietnam Veterans Entrepreneurs Association presented the Quang Tri Province Veterans Association with many gifts with a total value of 280 million VND.
