The 22nd Congress of the Fatherland Front of Gia Vien district, term 2024-2029

During 2 days (May 23-24), the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Vien district held the 22nd Congress of Delegates for the 2024-2029 term. Attending the Congress were leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, Gia Vien district and the Provincial Business Association.

During the past term, the Fatherland Front at all levels and its member organizations in the district have constantly innovated the content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, especially residential areas. They have actively propagated and mobilized union members, association members and people of all walks of life to well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws and local regulations.

Campaigns and patriotic emulation movements have been deployed with focus and key points, associated with specific themes, strongly arousing the spirit of emulation and creative labor among the people and the joint efforts of the whole community to participate in economic development, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

In the past 5 years, the District Fatherland Front Committee has presided over consultations and coordinated with member organizations to propagate and mobilize people to contribute cash and working days worth over 204 billion VND, donate over 16 hectares of land to build traffic works...; presided over the organization of collecting people's opinions on the results of building new rural areas, advanced new rural areas, and model new rural areas; focused on directing the effective implementation of models of " Classifying and treating waste at households and residential areas", "Mobilizing religious people and people to practice a civilized lifestyle in weddings, funerals and festivals", contributing to improving the quality of criteria for building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

The work of mobilizing to help the poor and social security activities has been directed and implemented effectively and practically by Party committees, authorities and the Fatherland Front at all levels. By the end of 2023, the "Repaying gratitude and social security" Fund at two levels had mobilized over 19 billion VND; using funds at all levels to present 58,530 gifts to policy families, poor and near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances... worth over 28 billion VND; supporting the construction and repair of 535 solidarity houses. Receiving financial support and relief goods from organizations, businesses, philanthropists and people with a total value of 1.2 billion VND to support people affected by floods in the Central provinces. Supporting the work of promoting education and talent with an amount of over 400 million VND. Received over 3.7 billion VND in cash and thousands of medical equipment, supplies and necessities to support the prevention and fight against COVID-19.

The work of supervision, social criticism, and participation in Party and State building has become increasingly effective. The great national unity and religious unity have been constantly consolidated and promoted; the people's foreign affairs activities of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and its member organizations have contributed to promoting and introducing the history, traditions, potentials, and strengths of Gia Vien district to domestic and foreign tourists.

At the end of the term, 5/5 targets set out in the Resolution of the 21st District Fatherland Front Congress, term 2019-2024, were completed.

At the Congress, the leaders of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province and the leaders of Gia Vien district proposed that in the next term, the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the district continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation in a practical and effective direction. Diversify forms of propaganda, mobilization, and gathering people, create consensus in society, promote the combined strength of the great national unity bloc, solidarity between religions and non-religious people; promote patriotic emulation movements, campaigns... Promote the representative role in protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of the people. Pay attention to training and improving the quality of cadres working for the Front at all levels, ensuring that the cadres are prestigious, qualified, and have improved capacity to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.

The Congress consulted and elected 65 delegates to join the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Vien district, term XXII, 2024-2029.

At the first conference, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district for the 2024-2029 term consulted and elected the Standing Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman and Standing Members. Ms. Mai Thi Kim Dung, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the district for the 21st term, was re-elected Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Vien district for the 22nd term.

The Congress also consulted to elect a delegation to attend the 12th Provincial Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2024-2029.
