During 2 days (September 18-19), at the district political center, the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Kim Son district held the 4th Congress of Delegates, term 2023-2028.
Attending the Congress were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee's Mass Mobilization Committee, the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs; the Provincial Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims; leaders of Kim Son district and 88 outstanding members representing over 900 members of the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims in the district.
In the 2018 - 2023 term, the Association of Agent Orange/Dioxin Victims of Kim Son district has successfully completed the tasks and targets set out in the term. Many tasks and targets were excellently completed and were commended and rewarded by superiors such as organizing the establishment of the Association, caring for and helping victims, organizing the establishment and development of the association fund, and promoting emulation activities...
Specifically, the Association has strengthened and supplemented the association's officers in charge of the association in communes and towns. Arranged association organizations and branches in communes subject to the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the period of 2019 - 2021. The Association has 924 members, of which 745 are victims. In particular, the Association is interested in mobilizing resources to care for and help victims. During its term, the Association has mobilized support and received 12,485 gifts, worth over 2.9 billion VND, to give to victims of Agent Orange/dioxin. Every year, in coordination with the District Association of War Veterans and the Provincial Association of Victims of Agent Orange/dioxin, 3-5 victims are sent to Hanoi for treatment. In coordination with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs, the district has built 6 new gratitude houses worth 300 million VND, repaired and upgraded 11 houses worth 230 million VND.
With the motto "Towards the grassroots, towards the victims", in the 2023-2028 term, the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin in Kim Son district has set out key tasks, which are: Striving to regularly build a clean and strong Association; coordinating with the Department of Labor, War Invalids and Social Affairs to research and guide eligible subjects to prepare documents, request competent authorities to consider and assess the enjoyment of regimes according to regulations. Regularly grasp the situation of victims, especially victims and their families with many difficulties, third-generation victims, to propose to the Party Committee, authorities and relevant agencies to pay attention to help, promptly resolve, mobilize benefactors and businesses to support both mentally and materially, especially during holidays, Tet and "For Vietnamese Agent Orange Victims" Day...
With a spirit of democracy, urgency and seriousness, the 4th Congress of Delegates of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of Kim Son district consulted and elected the Executive Committee of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of the district for the new term, consisting of 15 men and women, and elected 13 official delegates to attend the Congress of Delegates of the Association of Victims of Agent Orange/Dioxin of the province, term 2023-2028.
