The first Congress of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City

On the morning of October 27, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City held its first congress for the 2024-2029 term.

Attending the congress were leaders of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Thanh Hoa province, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa province, leaders of Thanh Hoa city and 180 delegates who are officers, volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and worked in Cambodia.

The Steering Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City was established under Decision No. 03/QD-HHN, dated May 20, 2023. Closely following the policies and orientations of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa Province, the Steering Committee has proposed activities suitable to the locality of the city.

Since its establishment, the Steering Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City has surveyed the volunteer army and experts who participated in the fight and worked to help Cambodia to recruit members, build the association, complete the association's establishment documents and prepare conditions to organize the first congress.

Through a survey, Thanh Hoa City has over 3,600 volunteer soldiers and experts who fought and worked in Cambodia. The campaign committee has coordinated with the Veterans Association of wards and communes to select people with a high sense of responsibility to participate in propaganda and mobilization to recruit members.

In recent times, the Steering Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City has organized for comrades representing veterans, former volunteer soldiers and experts to attend meetings, listen to traditional stories; join the Vietnamese volunteer army to visit the old battlefield. The Steering Committee in wards and communes has done a good job of comradely love, regularly visiting and helping members in difficult circumstances and promoting propaganda work so that people can clearly understand the friendship and solidarity between the two peoples of Vietnam and Cambodia.

With the spirit of solidarity and democracy, in the 2024-2029 term, the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City strives to have 80% of volunteer soldiers and combat experts working in Cambodia register to join the association; 100% of officials and members are fully informed of the operating regulations; 100% of officials and members strictly comply with the provisions of law on the organization of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association; 100% of wards and communes establish branches...

Discussing at the congress, delegates focused on clarifying the results achieved and difficulties in the process of mobilizing and recruiting members; agreeing on goals, directions, and tasks for the 2024-2029 term and discussing solutions to build a strong and sustainable association.

At the congress, delegates voted to elect the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association of Thanh Hoa City, term I, 2024-2029, consisting of 19 comrades. Comrade Ho Thanh Hai was elected as Chairman of the association.
