Congress of the Quang Nam Provincial Association of Photographic Artists, Term V, 2024-2029

(NADS) - Implementing Resolution No. 178/NQ-BCH dated August 19, 2024 of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, on organizing the Congress of grassroots branches for the 2024-2029 term, towards the 10th National Congress of the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists for the 2025-2030 term, on the morning of November 21, 2024, at the Hall of the Quang Nam Provincial Literature and Arts Association, the 5th Congress of the Quang Nam Provincial Association of Photographic Artists solemnly took place.

The congress was honored to welcome Artist Huynh Anh, member of the Executive Committee, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Association of Artists; Musician Nguyen Hoang Bich, President of the Quang Nam Provincial Literature and Arts Association, and Poet Phan Chin, Vice President of the Association; Ms. Vo Thi Thanh Van, representative of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam; Representative of the PA.03 Department of the Provincial Police; Representatives of the Photography Clubs of Tam Ky; Dien Ban; Dai Loc... and many reporters from newspapers and radio stations to attend and report.

The Congress listened to the Summary Report, Review Report of the Executive Committee of the past term, and the direction of activities for the 2024-2029 Term of the Vietnam Association of Fine Arts, Quang Nam Province.

Artist Huynh Anh, Executive Committee Member, Head of the Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Association of Artists, gave a speech directing the Congress.

Musician Nguyen Hoang Bich, Chairman of the Quang Nam Province Literature and Arts Association, gave his directive speech.

In the 2019-2024 term, the Association has developed 03 new members, bringing the total number of members of the Association to 16.

Over the years, the Quang Nam Provincial Association of Photographers has gathered a force of members who know how to unite and have many stable achievements in professional activities, acting as the core and always coordinating with the Photography Association of the Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, and has organized 05 creative field trips, each trip lasting 7 days, in the provinces of the South Central Coast and the Central Highlands. Through the creative sessions in groups and individually, self-funded, many members of the Association have had many good quality works.

The summary of the awards in the past 5 years is very encouraging: The total number of domestic and international awards is 102, including: 35 annual awards from the Provincial People's Committee; 9 awards from the Quang Nam Land Award every 5 years; 3 awards from the Study and Follow the Moral Example of Ho Chi Minh Award; 21 awards from regional festivals, ministries and annual excellent awards from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, including 02 silver medals, 01 bronze medal, 02 C Excellent Awards from the Vietnam Association of Photographic Artists, 16 first, second and KK prizes; International awards won: 10 gold medals, 03 silver medals, 02 bronze medals, 15 BDDs. In particular, Photographic Artist Le Van was awarded the State Prize.

The Association also coordinated to organize two large-scale exhibitions: on the occasion of the 69th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese Photography (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2022), the Vietnam Association of Photographers in Quang Nam province coordinated with the Association of Photographers in Da Nang City to organize an exhibition with the theme "March Reunion". The exhibition displayed 100 photographic works by 47 authors and on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese Photography (March 15, 1953 - March 15, 2023), the Vietnam Association of Photographers in Quang Nam province coordinated with the Provincial Association of Photographers to organize a ceremony to celebrate the traditional day, and a discussion to exhibit the works of award-winning members.

Launching the new Executive Committee with 03 members: NSNA Dang Ke Dong as Branch Chairman, 02 Vice Branch Chairman are NSNA Mai Thanh Chuong and Phan Trong Dat.

Artist Huynh Anh, representative of the Association's Executive Committee and Artist Hoang Bich, President of the Quang Nam Literature and Arts Association congratulated the new Executive Committee of the Association.

This Congress elected a new Executive Committee for the 2024 - 2029 term, consisting of 03 members: NSNA Dang Ke Dong was elected as Branch Chairman, 02 Branch Vice Chairmen are NSNA Mai Thanh Chuong and Phan Trong Dat.

The Congress also elected 06 official delegates along with 01 appointed delegate to attend the 10th National Congress held in 2025, with 02 alternate delegates.

In the spirit of Solidarity - Democracy - Innovation - Responsibility, the Congress ended after 100% of delegates attending voted to pass the Resolution of the Congress.
