Hanoi Medical University plans to open 2 new majors

Based on the needs of hospitals, Hanoi Medical University plans to add majors in Social Work and Medical Imaging Technology in 2025.

"The plan to open more majors in Social Work and Medical Imaging Technology is based on the needs of hospitals and medical facilities. The income from these two majors is quite attractive," said Associate Professor, Dr. Le Dinh Tung, Vice Principal of Hanoi Medical University.

According to Associate Professor Tung, the school previously focused on training doctors and postgraduates. Opening two new training majors at the main campus in Hanoi is considered a big difference. These two majors are suitable for the school's infrastructure and training capacity.

Also according to Mr. Tung, in 2025, Hanoi Medical University will basically stabilize the admission methods compared to the previous year, including: direct admission according to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training and Hanoi Medical University; considering high school graduation exam scores; considering admission combining graduation exam scores with international foreign language certificates; considering based on the competency assessment test scores of Hanoi National University (HSA).

This person added that it is possible that the school will have to adjust the admission combinations if the draft circular on university admission regulations is officially issued. "Because according to the new draft, training institutions will have to convert the equivalent scores to a common scale between the combinations and admission methods," Mr. Tung explained.

Hanoi Medical University plans to open additional majors in Social Work and Medical Imaging Technology in 2025.

Last year, Hanoi Medical University opened three new majors: Psychology, Midwifery and Dental Prosthetics. This was also the first time the school used the combination of block C00 (Literature, History, Geography) and D01 (Math, Literature, English) to select some majors, in addition to the traditional combination of B00 (Math, Chemistry, Biology).

The benchmark score of Hanoi Medical University in 2024 based on graduation exam scores ranges from 19 to 28.83 points. The highest is Psychology in block C00.

If only counting the traditional B00 combination, the Medical major leads with 28.27 points. The lowest score is 19 points applied to the majors of Medical Laboratory Technology and Rehabilitation Technology at Thanh Hoa branch.
