Hanoi National University establishes Advanced Technology and Innovation Park

NDO - On January 1, Hanoi National University announced that in order to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation and to carry out its mission, vision and development strategy in the coming time, Hanoi National University decided to establish an Advanced Technology and Innovation Park to focus resources on promoting international cooperation, cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises, and investment to develop priority research directions.

The Advanced Technology and Innovation Park was established to incubate science and technology enterprises and support startups, prioritizing the development of the fields of semiconductors, artificial intelligence, biotechnology, environment and advanced materials. The park develops as a complex including a number of member scientific research units and support and service centers such as: Institute of Information Technology, Institute of Natural Resources and Environment, Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology, Center for Knowledge Transfer and Startup Support, Center for Forecasting and Human Resource Development.

Director of Hanoi National University Le Quan said that Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW has oriented and pointed out solutions to implement Vietnam's new production method in the new era, which is development based on science and technology and innovation associated with digital transformation. Because the change in production method not only affects scientists, organizations, managers, and businesses but also affects the whole society, scientists and research institutes of the higher education system will play a core role in implementing the Resolution; the national innovation ecosystem will be closely and organically linked with the higher education ecosystem.

Experimental and practical activities in training and research of lecturers and students of Vietnam National University, Hanoi.

The advanced technology park, incubator of start-ups and innovation will use a complex of modern, smart and synchronous facilities in the urban area of ​​Hanoi National University in Hoa Lac, which is the Interdisciplinary Research Institute with a scale of nearly 23 hectares. It is expected that the Advanced Research Complex under the WB project will be deployed with more than 100,000m2 of floor space designed with synchronous construction infrastructure and digital infrastructure to meet the requirements of this Park.

Also according to Hanoi National University, since 2021, the unit has issued a Resolution on developing engineering and technology, health sciences, cultural and creative industries. Up to now, the above industries have accounted for 35% of the enrollment and training structure; expected to reach 45% in 2025. In addition, Hanoi National University is also building Hoa Lac into a smart, modern university urban center; participating in the national innovation ecosystem, especially developing human resources for research on semiconductor integrated circuit technology in Vietnam.

Notably, the implementation of the Project to reorganize and streamline the internal apparatus and the draft regulations on the organization and new operations of the unit deployed by Hanoi National University is expected to be completed before January 6 according to the organizational structure that promotes the connection between units and research groups of Hanoi National University, which will promote many strong scientists and research groups to contribute to the breakthrough development of science, technology, innovation and national digital transformation to promote the country's socio-economic development.
