Hanoi National University stipulates that if candidates use foreign language certificates to be exempted from the high school graduation exam, the training unit can convert them into foreign language subject scores to include in the admission combination with the weight of the score not exceeding 50%.
In the appendix attached to the regulations is the table of converting English certificate scores to a 10-point scale. Accordingly, the IELTS level of 7.0 - 9.0 after conversion will not be differentiated, all achieving the maximum score on the 10-point scale. The lowest IELTS level converted is 5.5, after conversion is 8.5 points. Note, Hanoi National University does not accept online exam certificates.
Specifically as follows:
Regarding other contents of the regulations, they are basically similar to the latest enrollment regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training. However, there are also some contents that Hanoi National University stipulates more specifically based on the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.
For example, regarding admission methods, Hanoi National University stipulates 4 main methods: direct admission according to regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training; admission based on high school graduation exam scores; admission based on HSA competency assessment exam scores organized by Hanoi National University; and other methods.
Other methods include admission based on the results of the Ho Chi Minh City National University's aptitude test, SAT test results, A-Level certificates, and ACT results. Training units with specific programs/majors may have their own methods, but must be approved by the director of Hanoi National University.
Hanoi National University also emphasized that training units must be responsible for explaining the scientific and practical basis in determining admission methods, admission methods, admission combinations, etc.
