Speaking at the ceremony, Minister Nguyen Kim Son said that from now on, the name National Economics University will replace National Economics University. The only difference is the omission of the first word in the name, but it paves the way for the word "great" to come first and help the school move towards "greatness" in all aspects.
According to the minister, the university model is an internal governance model that aims for multidisciplinary development, so in the future development orientation, the National Economics University needs to aim for a reasonable multidisciplinary structure, multidisciplinary but still promoting advantages, strengths and traditional strengths.
National Economics University needs to stand firm on its traditional strengths, specialties and uniqueness, expand in the direction of related and mutually supportive disciplines into a system, multidisciplinary in the most reasonable way on the basis of maintaining its identity and reputation.
"Multidisciplinary does not mean that we do everything that others do. We should not deviate from our main goals and missions. The school's identity and brand need to continue and be promoted in the new organizational and administrative model," said Minister Nguyen Kim Son.
National Economics University was established in January 1956. Currently, the school has 88 majors at the undergraduate level and 70 majors at the postgraduate level.
