Recently, a video recording the moment a large family of dozens of people in Ben Tre traveled in a special way was widely shared on social networks and immediately attracted attention.

Accordingly, this group of tourists rented an entire large passenger van with the requirement that the trunk must be large enough to hold enough food for everyone to cook and use during the spring travel days.

When they arrived at the lunch stop, they set up the kitchen, arranged the ingredients, prepared and ate on the spot.

“In the morning, we were hungry and had bread. At noon, we found a place to rest and drink water, then spread out a tarp, set up the stove, cooked, and joined in. This was just one meal. My family prepared enough food to eat all day during the trip,” the video’s owner introduced.

The story of a large family in Ben Tre bringing their own food and cooking tools when traveling has attracted attention online.

Below the post, many controversial opinions appeared. Besides comments expressing interest and support, there were also many opinions that traveling is an opportunity for people to rest, enjoy the cuisine and scenery, and should not waste time cleaning and cooking.

Sharing with VietNamNet reporter, Ms. Thanh Phan (30 years old, Ben Tre) said that the videos that caused a "storm" on the internet were filmed when her "extended family" went to the Ba Chua Xu temple in Chau Doc (An Giang), on the 15th and 16th of the first lunar month.

The trip was fully paid for by Ms. Phan’s family. In addition to her family, relatives from both sides of the family, there were also neighbors and some regular customers, a total of 45 people.

“Every year, my family sponsors all expenses to organize a festival and spring trip for everyone in An Giang. Because the number of participants is limited, each family can register 2 people. This tradition has been maintained since my parents’ time, for about 20 years,” Ms. Phan said.

Because the distance from Ms. Phan's house in My Hung commune (Thanh Phu district, Ben Tre province) to Ba Chua Xu temple (Sam mountain, Chau Doc city, An Giang province) takes about 8-9 hours to travel, they booked a large passenger van with a large trunk, ensuring enough food for everyone to use during the trip.

“There are not many restaurants or specialties along the way, so everyone prepares food on the bus and enjoys it at the lunch stop. Eating together like this helps members feel more comfortable, happy and connected to each other,” she added.

This woman revealed that to ensure a safe and convenient trip for 45 people, her family proactively booked a car, accommodation, and prepared a large amount of necessary food.

On this trip, the group of tourists prepared 40kg of homemade sausage, 150 loaves of bread, 4kg of vermicelli, dozens of cleaned chickens and ducks, drinks and snacks. In addition, they bought disposable bowls and chopsticks for easy cleaning, and rented gas cylinders from a familiar shop at the stopover in Lai Vung, Dong Thap.

In response to online controversy, Ms. Phan emphasized that her extended family only cooked and ate while traveling. On the way back, the group of tourists still took the opportunity to visit some nearby tourist attractions and enjoy delicious local dishes and specialties.

“After going to the Ba Chua Xu festival, the group had time to rest, explore the landscape and cuisine in An Giang. Every year, the extended family will combine experiences in each place. Some years we go to Ha Tien, some years we take the cable car up to Cam Mountain. All expenses are sponsored by my family, up to hundreds of millions of VND.

Everyone was happy and excited about the trip, there was no fatigue or excessive thrift as the online community questioned," Ms. Phan expressed.

Recently, Suong Nguyet Anh slope (Ward 9, Da Lat City, Lam Dong) has become a place that attracts a lot of young tourists, especially in the morning and at sunset.
