On the afternoon of November 17, the farewell ceremony of the 48th Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program (SSEAYP) took place at Tan Cang - Hiep Phuoc Port, Nha Be District, Ho Chi Minh City.
Before the farewell ceremony, the ship's management board created conditions for members of the host families and youth union members to visit the ship.
Dinh Thanh Tai (living in Tan Binh district) shared: "I am very excited because this is the first time I have been on such a big ship. The delegates took me to visit the living spaces on the ship.
What I like most are the boards that the delegates from each country make to introduce their delegation members. This tour motivates me to try harder, so that in the future I can become a delegate of the SSEAYP cruise."

After visiting the ship, it was time to say goodbye to the SSEAYP delegates. The tight hugs, words of advice and the eyes following the delegates back to the NIPPO MARU ship were the most beautiful images of the farewell ceremony.
Mr. Sho Takahashi - assistant leader of the Japanese delegation's youth - representing the delegates, expressed his feelings when arriving in Ho Chi Minh City:
"Although my days in Vietnam were short, they were meaningful. The warmth of my host family, the familiar meals, and the sincere hospitality of the Vietnamese people touched my heart deeply. I will return to Vietnam if I have the chance."
Ms. Phung Thi Thuy Van (residing in Thu Duc City) accompanied two delegates Zakia Ameliee (Indonesia) and Noudmila (Laos) and shared: "It was really touching. Just the other day, the two children were still shy and awkward, but now they have become as close as family members. I didn't think I would become attached to them so quickly. Today, seeing them off, I feel both proud and regretful. I hope they will continue their journey successfully and will always remember Vietnam."
