In the 25th session this morning (August 15), the National Assembly Standing Committee conducted questions and answers on groups of issues in the judicial field. The question and answer session was connected online with 62 delegations of National Assembly deputies from provinces and centrally-run cities. National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and Vice Chairmen of the National Assembly chaired the question and answer session. Speaking at the opening of the session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue said that in one day, the 25th session of the National Assembly Standing Committee will give opinions on important issues in the fields of justice, agriculture and rural development.
This is the fourth question-and-answer session held at the meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee. Based on the consideration of the fields and practical requirements, the National Assembly Standing Committee decided to select the issues under the responsibility of the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

In the morning, delegates questioned Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long on many major issues under the management of the judicial sector. These are urgent issues of concern to voters and the people; 34 delegations of National Assembly deputies directly requested to question these issues.
The question and answer session is an opportunity to recognize and evaluate limitations and obstacles and propose solutions to improve the quality of legislative work. This also aims to improve the quality of supervision, contributing to tightening discipline, preventing corruption, negativity, group interests, and local interests in building the legal system.

Speaking before taking the podium, Minister of Justice Le Thanh Long said that recently, judicial work in general, including law-making, inspection of legal documents, asset auctions, and judicial appraisal in particular, has achieved many positive results.
However, there are still limitations, shortcomings and things that have not been as expected, requiring the judiciary to try harder and make more efforts to meet the demands of voters nationwide. Minister Le Thanh Long hopes to listen to questions and comments from National Assembly deputies.

Solutions to overcome the situation of slow promulgation, overlapping and contradictory content and limitations and violations in the promulgation of documents detailing laws, resolutions of the National Assembly, ordinances and resolutions of the National Assembly Standing Committee.

This afternoon, the question-and-answer session focused on the fields of agriculture and rural development on the following groups of issues: Solutions to remove difficulties in exporting agricultural products; exploitation, protection and development of aquatic resources; solutions to remove the European Commission's (EC) "yellow card" for aquatic products; conversion of land use purposes, recovery of rice-growing land areas, ensuring food security and rice export. |
