According to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Dak Nong, volcanic specialties are very popular with consumers. Because the trees are grown on red basalt soil, mixed with minerals formed from volcanic eruptions. The fruits here have their own values such as large size, beautiful, fragrant taste, chewy...

Thanks to the special advantages of the volcanic land, Krong No district (Dak Nong) orients the development of agricultural products associated with the location, to create advantages in output and unique value for local agricultural products.

Krong No's goal is to use agricultural products to promote tourism, then use tourism to promote agriculture. Many agricultural products of Krong No have initially achieved success thanks to the brand associated with the word volcano or have a product story about the volcano. Among the 10 OCOP products of Krong No, there are 4 products with 4-star rating, all of which have brands associated with the volcano, including: Volcanic organic oranges; Volcanic organic tangerines; ST 24 rice and Volcanic avocado.

Five years ago, the Quang Phu Organic Agriculture and Forestry Production Cooperative spent days diligently "scraping the ground and making way for rocks" to plant trees on an area of 10 hectares. The thick layers of volcanic rock were gradually transformed to grow fruit trees. The Cooperative has successfully and sustainably exploited the natural resources, soil and climate of the potential Nam Kar volcanic rock area.

The cooperative's pomelos and tangerines grown on volcanic soil achieved 4-star OCOP certification from Dak Nong province in 2021. The cooperative's product prices are 2-3 times higher than those of products produced using conventional processes, but they are still sold very well.

Another specialty of the volcano here is avocado. Volcanic avocado has its own characteristics, especially in terms of elasticity, color and flavor, and has a high oil content, so it is capable of supplying essential oil processing factories. Over the past two years, due to the impact of the epidemic, the price of many types of avocado has dropped, but volcanic avocado has maintained its selling price, less dependent on the market.

People pay great attention to applying techniques to produce quality, attractive and nutritious avocados. This is the basis for gradually building the brand and trademark of Nam Kar volcanic avocado, belonging to the Dak Nong Global Geopark system.

The land and climate of the Nam Kar volcanic area have their own values. Therefore, when farming in a safe and sustainable manner, it will produce quality products with its own characteristics. These are unique values that cannot be found anywhere else.
