According to the Dak Nong Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the specialties of the volcanic region are highly favored by consumers. This is because the trees are grown on red basalt soil, mixed with minerals formed from volcanic eruptions. The fruits here have unique qualities such as large size, beautiful appearance, fragrant taste, and a chewy texture.
Thanks to inheriting special advantages from its volcanic land, Krông Nô district ( Đắk Nông province) is orienting its agricultural product development towards products linked to its geographical location, creating advantages in terms of output and distinctive value for local agricultural products.

Krong No's goal is to promote tourism through agricultural products, and then use tourism to promote agriculture. Many of Krong No's agricultural products have initially achieved success thanks to their brand names associated with the word "volcano" or having a story about the product related to volcanoes. Among the 10 OCOP products of Krong No, 4 products that achieved 4-star rating all have brands associated with volcanic landmarks: organic volcanic mandarin oranges; organic volcanic tangerines; ST 24 rice; and volcanic avocados.
For the past five years, the Quang Phu Organic Forestry and Agricultural Production Cooperative has been diligently cultivating 10 hectares of land, clearing the rocky terrain to plant trees. The dense layers of volcanic rock have been gradually transformed to make way for fruit trees. The cooperative has successfully and sustainably exploited the potential natural resources, soil, and climate of the Nam Kar volcanic rock region.

The mandarin oranges and tangerines grown on volcanic soil by the cooperative received OCOP 4-star certification from Dak Nong province in 2021. The cooperative's products are priced 2-3 times higher than those produced using conventional methods, yet they still sell very well.
Another specialty of this volcanic region is avocado. Volcanic avocados have unique characteristics, especially in terms of texture, color, and flavor, and a high oil content, making them suitable for essential oil processing plants. Over the past two years, due to the impact of the pandemic, the prices of many types of avocados have dropped, but volcanic avocados have maintained their selling price, remaining less dependent on market fluctuations.

Locals place great emphasis on applying techniques to produce high-quality, visually appealing, and nutritious avocados. This forms the basis for gradually building the brand and trademark of Nâm Kar volcanic avocados, part of the Dak Nong Global Geopark system.
The land and climate of the Nam Kar volcanic region possess unique values. Therefore, when practicing agriculture in a safe and sustainable manner, it will produce high-quality products with distinctive characteristics. These are unique values that cannot be found anywhere else.
