In addition, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan coordinated with 20 embassies in Japan to organize the Ikebana Charity Fair 2024 to raise funds to support people in difficult circumstances.

According to a VNA reporter in Tokyo, this year's International Traditional Flower Arrangement Art Exhibition was attended by the wife of Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba - Ms. Yoshiko Ishiba, the wife of Chief of Cabinet Office Yoshimasa Hayashi - Ms. Yuko Hayashi, the wife of Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu - Ms. Thai Thu Hong and representatives of embassies of many countries in Japan.

At the exhibition, visitors can enjoy 31 traditional Japanese flower arrangement styles, from simple to complex, from colorful to unique visual art.

Speaking to VNA reporters, artisan Shindo Kasei from Kyoto said he comes from a family with 10 generations of flower growers and the art of Japanese flower arrangement. Ikebana is not simply the art of flower arrangement but also has a relationship with many other traditional Japanese art forms such as tea ceremony, calligraphy, and Kabuki theater.

The work that Mr. Shindo brought to the exhibition is called Tachiike Kotenba, a combination of purple chrysanthemums from Da Lat and yellow chrysanthemums from Japan, symbolizing the wish that the Vietnam-Japan relationship will be forever sustainable and develop further in the future.

For his part, artist Ichifu Meikyo introduced a school of Ikebana that has a history of hundreds of years. Traditional Japanese families often arrange a separate flower arrangement corner called Tokonoma. The flower arrangement style follows a unique formula but mainly uses common flowers grown in the home garden. This work was inspired by a Christmas tree to welcome the approaching Christmas.

Meanwhile, Buddhist monk Hagiwara Doshu from a temple in Nara Prefecture introduced the Yamamura Goryu school of flower arrangement to the garden decoration style. In addition to the main color of red, the work also features yellow accents to create liveliness, as well as taking advantage of the unique styles of many surrounding flowers to create a strong impression on viewers.

Yamamura Goryu is a school of naturalism of plants, so all flowers are kept intact to preserve the natural, pure nature of plants. Each way of enjoying and feeling of visitors is a great reward for each flower arranger.

In addition to the Traditional Flower Arrangement Art Exhibition, the Ikebana Charity Fair 2024 is also held, chaired by the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan in coordination with the Embassies of several countries in Japan to raise funds to support disadvantaged people in Japan.

Speaking at the opening of the fair, Ms. Thai Thu Hong, wife of the Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan, emphasized that the International Flower Arrangement Art Exhibition and the fair are a special cultural exchange bridge, where people from Japan, Vietnam and many other countries in the world feel closeness, love and sharing. The most important thing is that people take advantage of the moments together to pray for a peaceful world without war.

As the host of this year's fair, the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, in addition to introducing the beauty of the lotus, Vietnam's national flower, also brings handicraft products, traditional Ao Dai costumes as well as water puppetry performances to friends in Japan and other countries./.
