During the upcoming April 30th and May 1st holidays, Ho Chi Minh City will offer many more attractive tours for domestic and international tourists seeking recreation and relaxation, including both day and night tours.

Diverse night tours

When the city lights up, it's also the time when domestic and international tourists can explore the vibrant nightlife of Ho Chi Minh City. A few days ago, Saigon Zoo launched the "When Night Falls" tour, introducing locals and tourists to the nocturnal habits of the animals there.

The tour is limited to 40 guests, divided into two time slots on Saturday evenings, with strict regulations such as: guests are not allowed to use flashlights, must speak softly, and walk quietly throughout the tour… These regulations aim to ensure the safety of the animals and avoid disrupting their natural habits.

"After an hour of sightseeing, we had an even more enjoyable experience. Parents should take their children on this tour to broaden their knowledge," shared Ms. Ho Hoa Mai, a tourist from Khanh Hoa province.

One of the tours that has attracted the attention of both domestic and international tourists recently is "District 1 - The Colors of the Night," organized by Vietluxtour Travel in collaboration with the People's Committee of District 1. Visitors will spend 5 hours exploring the vibrant nightlife, enjoying the diverse culinary scene, watching the À Ố Show – a unique bamboo circus performance, visiting museums in District 1, checking in at the Nguyen Hue and Le Loi pedestrian streets, exploring Ben Thanh Market, and relaxing at the end of the day with a foot massage at a spa...

The "Moonlight in the War Zone" night tour at the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site is always bustling with groups of visitors. Using moonlight as its central theme, the tour recreates the nighttime life and activities of the people of Cu Chi during the liberated zone from 1961-1964. Visitors can view dioramas and 3D films recreating the Cedar Falls offensive; experience scenes of people digging tunnels and weaving under the moonlight; young people enlisting in the army to fight the enemy; milling and pounding rice; young men and women singing folk songs in the fields; a market; and cultural performances for soldiers, guerrillas, and civilians, all amidst the sounds of bombs, artillery, and enemy aircraft…

Additionally, to immerse themselves in the vibrant city life, tourists can choose walking tours to admire the streets offered by Vietravel, BenThanh Tourist, etc. If you're a food lover, you can join a tour exploring the distinctive cuisine of District 1 and Cholon; while if you want to leisurely enjoy the night view and the cool breeze from the Saigon River, you can choose a river tour from Saigon Water Go…

New highlights

Ms. Tran Thi Bao Thu, Director of Marketing and Communications at Vietluxtour Travel, said that the company always strives to create differentiation in each product to attract tourists. The diversity of products, the uniqueness and novelty of each tour, helps customers spend more and have a complete experience during their stay in Vietnam.

Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, said that during the April 30th and May 1st holiday, Ho Chi Minh City will offer many attractive tours to serve domestic and international tourists for recreation and relaxation, including both day and night tours. Among them, the "50th Anniversary Train Journey: Connecting Cultural Regions" tour will give tourists the opportunity to explore unique destinations with a multi-modal journey, featuring five of the most beautiful trains in Vietnam; and enjoy the finest Vietnamese cuisine as they travel through different regions of the country…

Next, the tour "Saigon - Ho Chi Minh City's Imprints: 50 Years of Memories from Past to Present" includes destinations such as: the Saigon Commando Museum with its historical underground bunker and secret mailbox associated with the Saigon Commandos before 1975; conquering the Landmark 81 Skyview observation deck - one of the tallest buildings in Southeast Asia; cruising the Saigon River to admire the city lights at night and enjoying a dinner with special music; cruising on a luxurious yacht to the mysterious Thieng Lieng area, experiencing a day as a salt farmer…

In addition, the tour "Legends of the Special Forces Heroes of Rung Sac Forest - The Iron Land of Ho Chi Minh City" takes visitors back to history with destinations such as: Rung Sac Historical Site, the base of the 10th Rung Sac Regiment, associated with the heroic battles of the special forces from 1966 to April 30, 1975; Can Gio Monkey Island; Rung Sac Martyrs' Cemetery: where the graves of martyrs who sacrificed their lives in this land during the two long wars for national independence and reunification are gathered; Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site; Reunification Hall Historical Site; Nguyen Hue Walking Street…

Tourism product design expert Phan Yen Ly observes that Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry has been making efforts to connect travel businesses, offering products that suit consumer tastes and gradually meeting the sightseeing and entertainment needs of tourists. However, in addition to serving domestic and international tourists, it is also necessary to consider serving and attracting local customers, namely people living and working in Ho Chi Minh City; thereby "activating" more vibrant day and night tours.

According to information from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, in the first three months of 2025, the city's tourism industry earned 56,662 billion VND (compared to only 44,710 billion VND in the first quarter of 2024), an increase of 26.7% compared to the same period in 2024; March alone brought in over 19,000 billion VND.
