Highlights of the Lantern Festival Poetry Night and the art program "Dak Lak - Soaring with the Nation"

On the evening of February 9th, at the Provincial Library, the Vietnamese Poetry Day program in Dak Lak province continued with a spectacular Lantern Festival Poetry Night and the art program "Dak Lak - Soaring with the Nation". Attending the program were Comrade Nguyen Dinh Trung - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Comrade Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; representatives from provincial departments and agencies; and a large number of poetry lovers.

Vietnamese Poetry Day is a major cultural event, held annually on the Lantern Festival (the 15th day of the first lunar month). In 2025, the Vietnam Writers Association implemented the general theme "The Homeland Soars High". In most provinces and cities, Poetry Day took place in various forms, suitable to the practical situation of each locality. In Dak Lak, Poetry Day on the 15th day of the first lunar month was organized in coordination between the Provincial Literature and Arts Association and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the Provincial Library with the main theme "Dak Lak – Soaring High with the Nation". Accompanying the Organizing Committee of Poetry Day were the Provincial Police, the Provincial Military Command, the Provincial Border Guard Command, and many other agencies and organizations in the province.

A spectacular arts program.

The 2025 Poetry Day in Dak Lak will be organized with many rich activities such as a literary seminar "Vietnamese Poetry, Dak Lak - 50 Years After National Reunification," exhibitions and introductions of poetry publications and various forms of literature and art such as fine arts, photography, folk art, etc., for various audiences and age groups, with a special focus on children reading and performing poetry.

Simultaneously, the literary and artistic stations focusing on the heroic revolutionary traditions of officers and soldiers of the Provincial Military Command, Provincial Police, and Provincial Border Guard, celebrating the unit's Traditional Day, will be a special highlight alongside the cultural and artistic stations with themes of love for the homeland, showcasing the beauty of ethnic minorities and children of Dak Lak. Many diverse forms of art such as calligraphy, lion and dragon dance performances, and fashion combined with poetry will create a very distinctive atmosphere for Dak Lak Poetry Day.

A highlight of Poetry Day 2025 is the Lantern Festival Poetry Night program, featuring the ritual of releasing poems into the sky to the sound of drums, carrying with them hopes for good things in the new spring.

According to the Chairman of the Dak Lak Provincial Association of Literature and Arts, and Head of the Organizing Committee, the Vietnamese Poetry Day in Dak Lak has a very special character. It is an opportunity for poetry and other fields of literature, art, and folk art of various ethnic groups to blend with the public, with participation from many different groups and sectors. It is also a golden moment to officially kick off the vibrant arts and culture associated with important political, economic, and cultural events of the country and the province in the new year.

The Vietnamese Poetry Day in Dak Lak is also a cultural and artistic activity to celebrate the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – March 3, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the victory at Buon Ma Thuot and the liberation of Dak Lak province (March 10, 1975 – March 10, 2025); and to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the complete liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2025); the 50th anniversary of the summary of Vietnamese culture and arts, Dak Lak culture and arts; and the 35th anniversary of the founding of the Dak Lak Association of Culture and Arts (September 20, 1990 – September 20, 2025).
