VOV.VN - On the evening of September 23, at the Perfume River Theater, Hue City, the Hue Ao Dai Festival with the theme "Linh Phung" took place. This is the highlight of the series of activities of the Hue Autumn Festival 2024. The Hue Ao Dai Festival 2024 with the theme "Linh Phung" is a unique art program, telling vivid stories about the legend of the Phoenix - the "Phung" image in the four sacred animals: Dragon, Unicorn, Turtle, Phoenix. At the program, stories about the Ao Dai are expressed with a combination of art forms: fashion, music, dance... From traditional Hue music melodies to modern music with new harmonies and arrangements, the dances are inspired by royal court dances.

The Hue Ao Dai Art Program 2024 tells the story of the Phoenix legend, including 3 chapters: Phoenix dance; Linh phuong; Bach phuong cat tuong. In Vietnamese culture, the image of "Phoenix" appeared very early, with special symbolic meaning. The image of the phoenix has a strong vitality in Vietnamese cultural life, becoming a familiar theme in the traditional architecture, sculpture and decoration of the nation. In the capital Hue, the entire wooden architecture above the main gate Ngo Mon of the Imperial Citadel is called Ngu Phung tower.

The program brings together 12 famous ao dai designers from Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue with special ao dai collections inspired by the image of "Phung" in architectural decoration and in the royal costumes of the Nguyen Dynasty.

Ao Dai designer Tran Hong Quang Hoa said that the image of the Phoenix is ​​depicted in a variety of ways through each designer's collection, bringing viewers many interesting things during this festival: "For Hue, the symbol of the Phoenix is ​​very diverse such as Phoenix wall cloud, Phoenix long life... My collection has the image of Phoenix worshiping the sun and moon, expressing the worship of the sun, the moon, the rotation, the elements of heaven and earth, favorable weather and wind. This is a very meaningful symbol. Besides, there are many other diverse Phoenix symbols. The symbol of the Phoenix of the Nguyen Dynasty carries many messages."
