On the morning of September 21, Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Con Cuong district (Nghe An), said that in recent days, the district has experienced heavy rain and strong winds due to the influence of storm No. 4.
Prolonged heavy rain in blocks 7 and 8 of Con Cuong town caused landslides from Cua Ro mountain to near households, including 2 large rocks, making people worried.

There are many households living around Cua Ro Mountain. Not only that, this mountain is also located next to Highway 7, on the way to Khe Kem waterfall tourist site. The phenomenon of rocks falling from the top of the mountain not only endangers the people living here, but also threatens traffic participants on Highway 7.
Currently, these rocks have collapsed, rolling from the top of the mountain to a lower area, 5-10m away from the houses in blocks 7 and 8 of Con Cuong town.
According to local leaders, in heavy rain conditions, these rocks are at high risk of rolling down onto people's houses. What is worrying is that there are 10 households with 40 people in the threatened area.

After receiving the report from the people, the local authorities and rescue forces used cables and wooden poles to tie down the two rocks.
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan said that after the rain stops, the authorities will break up the rocks and move them to another location to ensure the safety of people's lives and property.
Previously, the People's Committee of Con Cuong district directed Con Cuong town to urgently evacuate people in areas at high risk of rockfall and landslides to safe places.
The local authorities have also erected warning signs in dangerous areas to alert people and vehicles passing by. The People's Committee of Con Cuong district has requested that if necessary, checkpoints will be set up to prevent people and vehicles from passing through until the situation is completely under control.
Mr. Tran Anh Tuan added that 10 households at risk of being affected by the rolling rocks have been evacuated to a safe place. Local authorities and relevant agencies are temporarily anchoring the rocks, waiting for the rain and floods to end before drilling manually to handle the situation.

Previously, at around 5:00 p.m. on September 19, a landslide occurred on the road from Chom Lom village to Yen Hoa village (Lang Khe commune, Con Cuong district). Many large rocks fell from the high mountains, blocking the road, making traffic difficult and potentially dangerous.
Lang Khe Commune People's Committee has notified local residents not to travel on this route; at the same time, it has arranged guards, prohibiting people and vehicles from passing through to prevent risks.
Due to the impact of rain after storm No. 4, landslides and tree collapses also occurred in the Eo Vuc Bong area on National Highway 7A, in Bong Khe commune, Con Cuong district. The incident injured a local father and son, who were crushed by a fallen tree, and severely damaged their motorbike.
