“We are well aware that the socialization of resources is of great importance in developing the innovation ecosystem. More than ever, building Da Nang into an innovation city, a national innovation startup center in the Central Highlands region requires the cooperation of not only state agencies and institutes but also the entire business community, experts and people of the city,” Ms. Le Thi Thuc emphasized.
Need to focus on specialized fields
Through studying the actual situation in the locality and surveying the innovation models of the United States (such as Silicon Valley) and China (such as Shenzhen), Dr. Dang My Chau - an expert and strategic advisor in the field of Entrepreneurship Innovation and Educational Technology (Edtech) believes that Da Nang's innovation needs to focus on specialized fields.
Accordingly, it is necessary to identify the technological fields in which Da Nang has advantages, focus on developing deep expertise in the chosen fields and attract businesses and investors in specialized fields. In particular, it is necessary to build a long-term vision for the development of Da Nang, maintain a commitment to innovation and development, and regularly evaluate and adjust strategies when necessary.
Dr. Dang My Chau said that the strategic areas that Da Nang needs to prioritize in its innovation activities are developing expertise in renewable energy; focusing on solutions for smart cities; focusing on specific areas in software development. At the same time, cooperate with neighboring provinces to expand market scope; create a mechanism for sharing resources between localities; thereby creating a more attractive investment destination through cooperation.
Dr. Dang My Chau also recommended that Da Nang should encourage a culture of innovation and cooperation. Specifically, it is necessary to encourage the development of an environment that accepts risks and cooperates in innovation activities; create physical and virtual spaces for interaction and connection between parties; provide incubators, funding and create connection opportunities for startups.
Along with that, Dr. Dang My Chau suggested that Da Nang strengthen cooperation in innovation with American, Japanese, and Korean partners in knowledge transfer, Australian and Finnish partners in technology application, and Singaporean partners in accessing the global market.
