DNVN - On May 8, at a conference to exchange information with businesses and discuss solutions to continue to attract tourists from the Korean and Japanese markets, the Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism said that he would launch a campaign to thank tourists for returning to the city.

According to information at the conference, in the first 4 months of 2024, the total number of Korean visitors to Da Nang reached 636,964, accounting for 41.3% of the total number of international visitors staying and occupying the Top 1 market of international visitors to this city.

The total number of Japanese visitors to Da Nang reached 47,508, accounting for 3.3% and ranking in the Top 8 international visitor markets to the city.

According to Chairman of Icon Danang Co., Ltd. Nguyen Duc Hanh, the Korean tourist market is shifting from group tourists to individual tourists, or to new destinations. However, the reality of welcoming guests shows that the number of Korean tourists returning to Danang for the second or third time is still very positive, with some even coming to Danang 5-6 times.

“I received a report from the hotel and was surprised to learn that there were cases of Korean tourists visiting Da Nang up to 20 times in one year, emphasizing that they were traveling, not working. Through investigation, those tourists flew from Korea to Da Nang every weekend to eat, swim, play golf… because the prices and variety of services here were very attractive to them!”, Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh said.

Responding to the request of the Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism for advice on how to continue to maintain and develop the Korean market, a representative of Vietnam Travelmart Company said that the city's tourism industry needs to launch programs and campaigns with specific slogans to attract Korean tourists who have visited Da Nang to return to the city in the near future.

Campaigns to thank international and domestic tourists returning to Da Nang will soon be launched.

According to Mr. Cao Tri Dung - Chairman of Da Nang Tourism Association, along with increasing the attraction of new Korean visitors, attracting tourists from this market back to Da Nang is extremely necessary and very feasible. Based on passports, it is easy to identify Korean tourists returning to Da Nang to apply preferential policies and products.

Mr. Cao Tri Dung and representatives of Vietnam Travelmart Company both said that this campaign needs to be launched from state management agencies to businesses participating in the tourism service supply chain for the destination. In particular, it is necessary to have the cooperation of the business community, especially large businesses, to create a breakthrough to attract Korean tourists to return to Da Nang.

Ms. Tran Nguyen - Deputy General Director of Sun World Group (Sun Group) said that many Korean tourists share that Da Nang is now like their "second home". If the city's tourism industry pioneers this message, Sun World will research to have preferential policies for Korean tourists coming to Ba Na Hills for the second time or more, such as reducing ticket prices, giving gifts...

According to Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, the idea of ​​a program to attract Korean tourists to return to Da Nang is very good and the city's tourism industry is fully capable of doing it. She emphasized: "We will immediately launch campaigns to thank tourists returning to Da Nang, not only for the Korean market but also for large, potential international markets and the domestic market.

Accordingly, the Da Nang Department of Tourism will soon study the connection of supply chains and businesses to communicate the campaign to welcome the return of tourists with preferential policies and new experiences for these tourists. At the same time, this is considered a breakthrough policy contributing to the sustainable development of Da Nang tourism in general and businesses in particular in the coming time.
