DNO - On August 27, the Da Nang Tourism Development Promotion Fund chaired and coordinated with the city's Department of Tourism to organize a program to introduce Da Nang tourism in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The program is accompanied by 10 tourism businesses in Da Nang and Central Vietnam, including: Sun Group Corporation, Vingroup Corporation (Vinpearl Joint Stock Company), Vietnam Travelmart Joint Stock Company, Viet Pilgrim Company Limited, Hoiana Resort & Golf, Visit Indochina, Wyndham Danang Golden Bay, Viet Pilgrim, Asian Companion Travel, Da Nang Dreamtrip and Peony Edu Travel and nearly 100 partners who are major travel companies in Malaysia.
In her welcoming speech, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi said that to meet the needs of Malaysian tourists, Da Nang has focused on investing in accommodation infrastructure, opening direct flights; developing tourism products, tourism services, entertainment and cuisine to enhance the experience of serving tourists during their journey to explore Da Nang.
For the MICE and golf market segment, the city has issued MICE policies with special incentives and organized international golf festivals to attract this tourist market.
The Da Nang Tourism Promotion Program in Malaysia 2024 focuses on updating information on events, festivals, new tourism products, MICE tourism, golf, beach resorts, and cuisine. Through this, it creates opportunities for Da Nang tourism businesses to expand and connect with partners in Malaysia.
One of the highlights of the program is the introduction of the direct flight route Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang, which will open on September 24, 2024, operated by Malaysia Airlines with a frequency of 7 flights/week, increasing the flight frequency from Kuala Lumpur - Da Nang to 28 flights/week.
Malaysia Airlines' direct flight from Kuala Lumpur to Da Nang not only contributes to increasing the number of Malaysian tourists coming to explore Da Nang, but also opens up opportunities to connect with 170 destinations that Malaysia Airlines has a flight network to, with the markets of Indonesia, Australia, India, Europe...

Da Nang ranked 2nd in the top 11 best destinations in Asia in 2024 thanks to its strengths in beach resort tourism, convergence of world-famous hotel brands, unique theme parks, night entertainment activities and rich culinary culture.
Da Nang also has the advantage of connecting to world cultural heritages and has been honored as Asia's Leading Festival - Event Destination. The growth of international visitors to Da Nang in the first 7 months of 2024 demonstrates the attraction of the destination with more than 2.4 million international visitors staying at hotels and resorts.
Malaysia is always in the top 10 international tourist markets to Da Nang city and has impressive growth. In 2016, there were only 26,787 Malaysian visitors to Da Nang, but by 2019, it had tripled to 88,583 visitors. In the first 7 months of 2024, there were 75,067 Malaysian visitors to Da Nang, almost reaching the level of the whole year of 2019.
Also within the framework of the working trip, the city's leadership delegation had a meeting and discussion with Malaysia Airlines. Accordingly, Da Nang requested the media company to promote Da Nang tourism on Malaysia Airlines channels.
At the same time, the two sides will coordinate to invite Famtrip, Presstrip, and KOLs delegations to experience Da Nang tourism and support communication to tourists in Malaysia.
