On the afternoon of January 16, 2025, the People's Committee of Da Nang City organized a workshop on "Developing an international financial center in Vietnam". Attending the workshop were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang, Mr. Phan Van Mai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, along with representatives of leaders of central and local ministries and nearly 200 delegates who are financial experts and domestic and international enterprises.
Speaking at the workshop, Mr. Le Trung Chinh said that in order to realize the goals, tasks and solutions stated in Notice No. 47-TB/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 259/NQ-CP of the Government, the City People's Committee organized the workshop with the aim of introducing the policy and orientation for developing an international financial center in Vietnam, including a comprehensive international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City and a regional financial center in Da Nang City.

At the same time, promote the potentials and favorable conditions for international and regional financial centers in Vietnam to soon form and develop.
According to Mr. Chinh, through the workshop, he hopes to receive consultation from state management agencies, strategic investors, organizations, financial institutions, investment funds; consulting companies (law, finance, accounting, auditing...); training institutions and domestic and foreign experts and scientists on specific mechanisms and policies for the development of an international financial center in Vietnam.
At the same time, ensure the organization is practical, effective, and in accordance with current legal regulations; domestic and foreign business associations and unions as well as mass media.
Experts participating in the workshop said that the feasibility of building an international financial center in Vietnam is very positive.
According to experts, a Financial Center is a diverse ecosystem of financial services concentrated in a certain area. It is a place where many financial institutions, banks, investment funds, financial service companies and stock, currency and commodity exchanges are concentrated. The formation of an area with its own, superior and specific institutions, encouraging and attracting investors to provide financial products/services, connecting with leading Financial Centers, promoting innovation and developing financial activities is very necessary.

It has potential and conditions in terms of infrastructure, human resources, and specific policies according to Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 dated June 26, 2024 of the National Assembly on organizing an urban government model and piloting a number of specific policy mechanisms for Da Nang's development...

From there, promptly research and develop draft mechanisms and policies to report to the Ministry of Planning and Investment for consideration and synthesis into the draft Resolution of the National Assembly, concretize, closely lead and direct, and resolutely and effectively implement the goals and tasks set forth in Resolution No. 259/NQ-CP of the Government and the Plan of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on the implementation of Notice No. 47-TB/TW.
