The People's Committee of Da Nang City proposed that the Prime Minister direct the shortening of the investor selection process as much as possible so that construction of Lien Chieu Port can begin around October 2025.

Da Nang City People's Committee has just informed about the implementation status of Lien Chieu Port Project.

Accordingly, by the end of 2025, the City People's Committee will complete the construction of the shared infrastructure of the Project. For the wharf areas, there are currently 4 investors interested in investing such as Adani Group, Joint Venture of Sumitomo Group (Japan) and BRG Group (Vietnam), Da Nang Port, Joint Venture of APM Terminals Group (Netherlands) and Hataco (Vietnam).

The city is actively selecting strategic investors who meet the criteria of Resolution No. 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly and have sufficient capacity and practical conditions to build a modern international transit port and a green port as concluded by the Prime Minister in Notice No. 417/TB-VPCP dated September 13, 2024 of the Government Office.

Therefore, the People's Committee of Da Nang City proposed that the Prime Minister direct the shortening of the investor selection process as much as possible so that construction of Lien Chieu Port can begin around October 2025. "This will also be a growth driver for the whole country and Da Nang," said the People's Committee of Da Nang City.

Recently, the City People's Committee has coordinated with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to send a document to the Prime Minister to thoroughly resolve the two investment proposal dossiers for the Lien Chieu Port Project.

Along with that, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 140/QD-TTg dated January 16, 2025 approving the Detailed Planning of seaports, ports, wharves, buoys, water areas, and water regions for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, including the orientation for the construction and development of Lien Chieu Port.
