Da Nang: Do not let shortages or disruptions in supply cause sudden price increases

DNVN - Based on the proposal of the Department of Industry and Trade, the People's Committee of Da Nang City requested departments, branches, districts and towns to continue focusing on implementing price management and operation measures in the remaining months of 2024.

Accordingly, following the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai - Head of the Price Management Steering Committee in Notice 193/TB-VPCP dated May 3, the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Industry and Trade to continue to proactively monitor the market situation, especially essential goods such as food, foodstuffs, gasoline... during times when the market has high demand.

Danang Market Management Department strengthens inspection of declaration, price posting and selling at listed prices of essential goods at shopping centers and supermarkets.

Proactively forecast, have plans or propose to competent authorities measures to ensure supply-demand balance, stabilize the market, and remove difficulties in goods supply; avoid shortages or interruptions in goods sources that cause sudden price increases.

At the same time, strengthen the effective implementation and supervision of price declaration, price posting, and price information disclosure of organizations and individuals producing and trading goods and services in the assigned fields. Organize inspections, checks, and strictly handle law compliance in production and business activities of petroleum traders.

The People's Committee of Da Nang City also requested the Department of Industry and Trade to continue to promote the implementation of policies and programs to support production and business establishments and enterprises in the area to apply machinery, equipment and technology in production activities, promote product promotion and introduction and expand consumption markets to remove difficulties for enterprises in the current period.

Continue to coordinate with the Da Nang Market Management Department to strengthen market inspection and control. Focus on inspecting the activities of declaring and posting prices of goods and services and selling at listed prices of essential goods at shopping centers, supermarkets, markets, businesses... to promptly detect acts of speculation, hoarding, unreasonable price increases and illegal profits, false rumors causing shortages of goods and services, destabilizing the market.

In addition, the People's Committee of Da Nang City assigned the Department of Finance to preside over and coordinate with agencies and units to carry out state management of prices according to its authority. Strengthen inspection of price declarations of units in the price declaration list managed by the Department. Preside over and coordinate with agencies and organizations to inspect prices of accommodation services and other related services during the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival. Deploy relevant documents locally when the 2023 Price Law and guiding Decrees and Circulars come into effect.

At the same time, the City Police Department is requested to strengthen patrols, control, and handle violations of the law on prices. Handle violations, take advantage of market fluctuations to increase prices unreasonably, and cases of spreading false information that cause market instability. Continue to coordinate with the Department of Transport and related sectors to develop plans, organize forces to implement coordination measures to facilitate the smooth circulation of passengers and goods.
