On the evening of August 30, Da Nang City held an inauguration ceremony for the project to upgrade and restore the City Memorial and renovate and expand March 29 Square (Hai Chau District).

Da Nang City leaders offered incense at the Memorial to commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs.

The project to upgrade and embellish the City Memorial and renovate and expand March 29 Square is being carried out in 2 phases with 3 sub-areas, with a total investment of more than 212 billion VND.

The project items include renovating the main monument, renewing the relief. Building 2 rest houses, landscape architecture system, trees, lighting system around the Memorial. The square parking area operator, artistic fountain floor, propaganda LED screen...

Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City Le Trung Chinh shared that over the past 30 years, the Memorial has gradually become one of the city's typical works, demonstrating the fine tradition of remembering the source of water, paying tribute to heroic martyrs and also symbolizing the indomitable spirit and rich revolutionary tradition of the heroic land of Quang Nam - Da Nang.

“The project is the sentiment, responsibility and result of the effort and spirit for the development of the city. We hope that the City Memorial and March 29 Square will continue to be an attractive place to educate the tradition of drinking water and remembering its source, the revolutionary spirit for the younger generations, to maintain the spirit and good qualities of the people and land of Da Nang; to foster the aspiration to build the country and the city to develop more and more. At the same time, it will also be a place for people and tourists to come and have fun and relax with many cultural and artistic activities, contributing to improving the spiritual life of the people,” Mr. Chinh emphasized.
