According to Vo Tri Thanh, Director of the Institute for Brand Strategy and Competitiveness, Da Nang has great potential to become a livable coastal city of the Asian region. Among them, the most profound identity factor that creates the portrait of a “livable city” is the unique qualities of Da Nang people: friendly, open, honest, affectionate, and ready to help each other.

Da Nang has more advantages than Singapore
Da Nang is oriented to become a livable coastal city of Asian stature. According to experts, what advantages does Da Nang possess to soon break through to become a model of a “livable city” of regional stature?
Livability is a very subtle concept, not only originating from culture and history. It is a place to enjoy, contribute, rest, entertain and work. City citizens are satisfied with their consumption needs, use of services, goods and optimize labor, income...
Da Nang has many advantages, even more than Singapore, especially in terms of nature. In fact, many cities are worth visiting but not necessarily worth living. Therefore, it is best if Da Nang develops like Singapore, both worth visiting and worth living.

Each person has a different understanding of a livable place. For a long time, through polls or information on the media, it can be seen that there are many criteria for evaluating a livable place.
First is the lifestyle. According to the current trend, a livable place must ensure the following factors: green, humane, safe, personalized, and individualized. If it does not meet the above requirements, it is not a livable place.
The second is the urbanization trend. People like to live in urban areas for a simple reason: urbanization creates social capital, then there is investment, trading in consumer goods, and producing the best goods and services. In particular, a livable place must be green, sustainable, smart, and safe. And all services provided to that urban area must be a good ecosystem including healthcare, education, and public services (including private utility services).
The third factor is the identity factor. Da Nang people are very friendly, open, honest, live with affection, and support each other - that is a cultural trait that can be felt. Without that identity, it would no longer be a livable city.
Da Nang attracts a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
The fourth factor is the environmental factor. Does a livable city have a favorable business investment environment and working environment, and can it be compared internationally? In Da Nang, the digital transformation index and administrative reform index are both at the top of the country. The business and working environment are very important to people, which is a necessary factor to promote creativity.
Fifth, livable is a value that must be spread. If a livable city can spread, it is very good. Spreading creates competition with other localities and it contributes to becoming a criterion for other places to build a "livable city". Spread the process of how Da Nang builds a livable city, how it attracts quality "eagles". Attract talented people, rich people to join hands for the sustainable development of the city.
Da Nang must attract the elite
According to you, what should Da Nang do to become more and more worth visiting and worth living?
Da Nang is truly a city with great potential to harmonize the elements of worth visiting and worth living.
First, Da Nang needs to attract high-class, super-rich, high-quality, highly skilled people to live and work. That is a very important criterion to evaluate a livable place. Because they are pioneers, follow trends, have high demands and are very creative.
Second, I think that in the planning, it is necessary to preserve the unique identity of Da Nang, exploiting the strengths of natural landscapes such as rivers, mountains, forests, and seas. At the same time, there must be spaces worthy of being a permanent residence for the new class of citizens mentioned above.
Third, attracting “eagles” – large economic groups is very important. Because with extensive investment experience, these “eagles” will create a complete ecosystem that meets all the needs of tourists and residents from experience, entertainment, recreation to long-term residence and business...

If we study the development vision of Da Nang, it is not just tourism, although tourism is an organic, very important part, and a highlight of Da Nang. In parallel with taking advantage of tourism's strengths, Da Nang needs to invest in developing high-tech industry, innovation industries, digital technology, logistics services... Then, it will help the city attract high-quality human resources to live and work, realizing the goal of a livable city.
Recently, Da Nang has attracted 15-16 thousand immigrants each year, with a mechanical population growth rate of nearly 16%. As it becomes more and more livable, Da Nang will continue to attract a large number of "migrant" residents to live and work. According to experts, what should Da Nang do to attract the elite community of residents, talented people, and rich people, contributing to the rapid and strong development of the city?
A livable city must develop sustainably, and its residents must enjoy the fruits of their labor and be happy. However, a very important point that proves whether a city is truly livable, and can be compared with international competitors, is its ability to attract the elite, the rich, businessmen...
Da Nang has done that. And to continue to attract better, create a high-quality community of residents to stick with and contribute to long-term development, the city still has a lot to do. That is to meet new living trends: green, humane, convenient, classy and safe, able to withstand possible incidents and resolve them in the best and fastest way. Especially for the elite, including the super-rich, a livable city must have an ecosystem that guarantees them 3 things.
Da Nang International Fireworks Festival creates attraction and brand for Da Nang city worth visiting.
The first is the best life, access to high-class services from education, healthcare, entertainment, and rest to live and work. The second is a favorable business environment, so that people can bring money here to invest and spend. The third is a living space, enjoying so that people can freely create. I believe that with the current internal strength and future orientation, Da Nang will be able to do it, becoming a place where "good land attracts birds".
To make Da Nang a good place for business and investment
Besides being worth visiting and worth living, can Da Nang aim to position itself as a city worth investing in on a continental scale, sir?
Da Nang itself has potential, the fragrance comes naturally. People are interested in Da Nang because they see it as a place where they can do good business and invest well. Looking at the general planning of Da Nang, we can see that there is huge room for development, so there will be countless opportunities for investment, business and employment in this coastal city. Therefore, Da Nang has a lot of potential to become a city worth investing in.
However, before becoming a place worth visiting, worth living, worth investing for everyone in and outside the country, Da Nang must be a place worth visiting, worth investing for the "eagles". Because the presence of large corporations will lead the market to follow the trend of classy, civilized, modern development, and at the same time attract many other investors to join the market. This is a prerequisite to create breakthroughs and leaps in development for Da Nang city. Currently, the city has attracted large eagles of Vietnamese nationality and multinational corporations such as Sun Group, Vingroup, FPT, Samsung or Lotte... The leadership of top enterprises will soon make Da Nang a city worth visiting, worth living, worth investing in reaching the regional level, becoming "the second Singapore of Asia".
Thank you!
