Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi visited the Vietnamese Language Center of Champasak province.
To date, the Vietnamese community in Champasak province has more than 1,100 households, with nearly 5,000 people. People here always uphold the spirit of solidarity, preserve national cultural identity, share and support each other in all aspects of life. The Vietnamese community has also been harmonious, well implementing local policies and laws. Thereby, contributing to fostering the special relationship between Vietnam and Laos, as well as between localities of the two countries.
The Laos-Vietnam Friendship School currently has about 20 classrooms, with nearly 400 students, basically meeting the learning needs in the area.
On behalf of the city's leaders, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi informed about the development situation of Da Nang, and at the same time, emphasized the important role of the Vietnamese community in fostering and developing the special friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee also said that Da Nang city always has good feelings and cares for and supports the Vietnamese community in the Central and Southern provinces of Laos, including those in Champasak province.
Visiting the Vietnamese Language Center of Champasak province, Vice Chairwoman of the City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi also highly appreciated the center's performance, shared the current difficulties in facilities and said that the city will support the reconstruction of the Vietnamese Language Center in the premises of the Da Nang Champasak Friendship Center.
On this occasion, the city delegation provided financial support to pay salaries for Vietnamese language teachers; and presented gifts to encourage teachers sent by the city to teach at the Vietnamese Language Center in Champasak province./.
