According to the People's Committee of Da Nang City, the project "Da Nang Innovation Space" (An Hai Nam Ward, Son Tra District) plays the role of an innovation and startup center, attracting startup talents, and generating and nurturing technology corporations.
Da Nang will build an "Innovation Space" project to attract startup talents, generate and nurture technology corporations.
The project will be built on an area of nearly 1,900m2 with a total estimated investment of more than 489 billion VND from the Da Nang City budget. The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2028. The scale of the project includes the construction of a new 15-storey building, 2 basements, 1 technical floor with synchronous infrastructure and equipment.
According to Dr. Le Duc Vien - Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Da Nang, there are currently about 41,000 enterprises and branches and representative offices operating in the area. The total number of seats that co-working spaces (LVC) in Da Nang can provide is only 800 - 900 seats. This is an insignificant number compared to the number of business groups, startup projects in particular and the startup ecosystem in Da Nang is developing very quickly.
The LVC areas in Da Nang are currently not operating effectively, each area is a separate community. Therefore, these communities are not really diverse, partly because the LVC areas only attract one or a few certain customer groups. This lack of diversity has made the LVC areas in Da Nang monotonous, limiting the ability to interact - one of the things that LVC areas in the world are aiming for.
At the same time, LVC zones in Da Nang have not created a complete ecosystem. Accordingly, to have a complete ecosystem, LVC zones must be a place where a startup can find support from the community of people working there. That requires diversity and community cohesion of LVC zones.
The LVC area of the City Business Incubator has the most potential for development, supported by the Da Nang startup ecosystem, with close relationships between the community of people working in supporting fields such as IT, design, marketing, sales, digital, nomad… and other industries. However, this space has stopped operating due to having to return the premises to the City.
In that situation, the investment in the construction of a new "Da Nang Innovation Space" is a science and technology infrastructure asset to provide innovation space, LVC area, incubator facilities and shared technical equipment, office equipment, IT infrastructure to support projects and creative startups.
“Investing in this project to implement specific mechanisms in Resolution 136/2024/QH15 of the National Assembly and Resolution 56/2024/NQ-HDND of the People's Council of Da Nang City is one of the strong solutions contributing to the implementation of the goals in Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology development, innovation and national digital transformation,” emphasized Dr. Le Duc Vien.
