ĐNO - The Ministry of Science and Technology has just announced the results of the Provincial Innovation Index 2023 (PII). Accordingly, Da Nang is ranked 4th out of 63 provinces and cities. Leading the rankings are Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hai Phong, respectively.

Specifically, Da Nang with PII reached 50.70 points; innovation input reached 56.96 points; innovation output reached 44.45 points. Da Nang ranked 1st in PII index of North Central and Central Coast region.
The results of the 2023 PII assessment also show that Da Nang has strengths in the pillars related to: institutions; human capital and research and development; facilities; impact. It is known that the PII index set in 2023 evaluates 52 indicators, divided into 7 pillars (according to the principles of the GII index set), including: institutions; human capital and research and development; infrastructure; market development level; enterprise development level; knowledge, innovation and technology products; impact. This is a tool for localities to examine in detail the aspects of output and input.
On that basis, localities can identify issues that need attention; thereby directing and operating in the development and implementation of measures and solutions to promote socio-economic development based on science, technology and innovation, contributing to improving business capacity, competitiveness and innovation capacity of localities and the country.
