The city of thousands of flowers, Da Lat, Lam Dong province, has just been awarded the Asian Festival City award by the International Festival and Event Association - Asia (IFEA ASIA).

On the evening of February 28, at the Asian Festival City Award Ceremony and the Asian Festival Award, part of the 2024 Summit Awards and the Asian Festival City Conference, held in Thailand, Da Lat city was awarded the Asian Festival City Award by the International Festival and Event Association - Asia (IFEA ASIA), based on the results of successfully organizing the "Da Lat Flower Festival" since 2005 to present.

The logo was presented by IFEA ASIA representative to Chairman of Da Lat City People's Committee Dang Quang Tu at the event, showing that "Da Lat Flower Festival - Vietnam" was recognized by IFEA ASIA as "Asian Flower and Ecotourism Festival 2024".
According to the People's Committee of Da Lat City, Da Lat Flower Festival was recognized in the category of "Most beautiful flower and garden festival", belonging to the group of 5 impressive festival cities in Asia.
The Asian Festival Awards also have categories to be honored, such as Best Music Festival, Best Dance Festival, Best Heritage and Culture Night, Outstanding Asian Folk Festival, Best Entertainment Festival...

In December 2023, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Lat City signed to confirm the application for the Asian Festival Award.
The dossier clearly states that the Flower Festival is an activity to honor the value of flowers and the floriculture profession, aiming to call for investment in the Da Lat flower industry. At the same time, it promotes the image and beauty of the city and the culture of Da Lat people, contributing to creating an attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists, creating motivation for the development of the tourism-service industry, promoting and supporting the development of other industries and fields.

The Dalat Flower Festival was first held in 2005, and has since been held every two years. In 2009, Dalat was recognized by the Prime Minister as the “Vietnam Flower Festival City”. To date, Dalat has held 9 Flower Festivals, with themes changing each time, revolving around promoting and investing in the flower, tea, silk industries and developing local tourism.
Da Lat Flower Festival has become a cultural and tourism festival of national and international significance.

According to assessments, through the organization of Flower Festivals, Da Lat city in particular and Lam Dong province in general have achieved many successes in the goal of developing the flower and tourism industry - the strengths of the locality.
Da Lat Flower Festival has left a good impression on the people and tourists, creating a strong driving force for the flower growing industry and Da Lat tourism to develop remarkably.

Along with the title “Vietnam Flower Festival City”, Da Lat has also been voted and awarded certificates by many domestic and international organizations as “ASEAN environmentally sustainable city”, “ASEAN clean tourist city”, and the awards “Vietnam smart city”, “typical city in the emulation movement to build green – clean – beautiful cities”, and is an official member of the Asia-Pacific Cities Tourism Promotion Organization.
