The fair gathered hundreds of start-up products of young people from mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas in the province. Among them, young people from Bac Tra My district brought Huynh Nien black pepper products, chili sauce, Ngoc Que dried bamboo shoots, confectionery products, grapefruit shampoo...

Nam Tra My youth brought to the fair Ngoc Linh ginseng products, Ngoc Linh ginseng wine, Ngoc Linh ginseng tea; various types of tea, Gynostemma pentaphyllum, wild honey... Tay Giang's booth had a variety of mountain and forest flavors with purple sticky rice, charcoal sticky rice, green-heart black beans, wild pepper, ginseng tea...

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Nhan (residing in Song Tra commune, Hiep Duc) brought to the fair her first startup products with agarwood bracelets, sassafras, sassafras essential oil, and agarwood essential oil. Realizing the potential of agarwood essential oil and sassafras essential oil, in 2021, Ms. Nhan invested in machinery and technology to extract essential oils from agarwood and sassafras wood to sell to the market.

"Because I'm just starting out, I'm still having trouble finding a market. I hope participating in fairs will help me promote my products and expand my market," she said.

Meanwhile, the products of whole herbal chickens, salt-stewed chicken, herbal chicken eggs, fresh chicken organs, etc. of Mr. Do Cong Dung (Dai Son Cooperative, Dai Loc) were favored by customers at this fair. Each kilo of herbal chicken meat sold by Mr. Dung at the fair costs 150,000 VND.

Ms. Phan Thi Ha - a young woman from Duy Phu commune (Duy Xuyen) brought something different to the fair with grapefruit essential oil and fermented grapefruit juice to aid digestion and reduce belly fat.

“About half an hour before going to bed, women should drink a glass of fermented grapefruit juice, it's very good. If it's convenient, drink another glass in the morning. After a while, it will help you lose weight and reduce belly fat effectively,” said Ms. Ha.

Towards the youth of the mountainous areas

Mr. Hoang Van Thanh - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union of Vietnam shared that from the capital of the National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development of Ethnic Minorities and Mountainous Areas for the period 2021 - 2030 and support mechanisms and policies from the province, the orientation of the Provincial Youth Union, young people in mountainous districts of Quang Nam have boldly implemented start-up and career projects.

Many models bring high economic efficiency such as the indigenous orange model associated with eco-tourism of young Riáh Dung (Tay Giang), Hat Thuong cereal of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuong (Nong Son), the Green Forest Ecological Agricultural Cooperative of Coor Thi Nghe (Tay Giang)...

“Although some young people have succeeded and some have encountered difficulties on their entrepreneurial journey, start-up projects in the highlands have made a breakthrough in quantity and quality by leveraging the strengths of local resources, demonstrating the will and aspiration to escape poverty and become rich legitimately. This is truly encouraging,” Thanh commented.

According to Mr. Thanh, in reality, the process of starting a business and establishing a career for young people in ethnic minority and mountainous areas still faces many difficulties such as limited investment capital, lack of knowledge about starting a business or difficulty finding outlets for products.

Understanding that reality, the Provincial Youth Union Standing Committee has implemented many specific activities to support. Typically, organizing training on applying digital technology in sales; training on starting a business, starting a business applying digital transformation; training on knowledge of managing cooperatives and cooperatives; consulting and supporting loans...

In the period of 2023 - 2024, the Provincial Youth Union regularly organizes fairs to display and connect the consumption of startup products of youth in ethnic minority and mountainous areas. This fair brings together 16 booths of 9 mountainous cluster units and startup products in Duy Xuyen, Dai Loc, Dien Ban, Tay Giang, Dong Giang, Hiep Duc, Bac Tra My districts...

The Organizing Committee also promptly commended 6 typical young people from ethnic minority and mountainous areas who are outstanding in starting a business and establishing a career. Including Mr. A Hiep - Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union of Phuoc Xuan commune (Phuoc Son); Ms. A Lang Thi Mi - Youth Union member of A Xan commune (Tay Giang); Mr. Blup Yeu - Secretary of the Youth Union of Pa Toi hamlet (Ta Poo commune, Nam Giang); Mr. Nguyen Van Nhat - Secretary of the Youth Union of Tra Don commune (Nam Tra My) ...

“This will be a good opportunity for young entrepreneurs to exchange and learn from each other’s experiences. This will help inspire young people to start their own businesses,” said Mr. Thanh.
