Scientists and archaeologists at home and abroad have made important conclusions in finding solutions and materials to serve the restoration of My Son relic, Quang Nam .
In 2003, Vietnam cooperated with UNESCO and Italy to conduct a research project to find the most optimal restoration method for the My Son heritage complex. Up to now, the research project has entered the final stage and found a restoration method for the tower clusters in My Son. Tower cluster G is a cluster of towers that is quite special in structure and art, located on a high point which is a small hill located behind tower clusters B, C and D and adjacent to tower cluster A. The main tower - Kalan has now completed the restoration, it is expected that the second tower located in front of the main tower will be completely restored by mid-June.

The conclusions on the restoration method are the result of 10 years of research and study by a group of archaeologists and architects in the project to restore the My Son heritage complex. Ms. Mara Landoni, an Italian architect, said: “We have found a solution for restoration, using the resin of a natural tree found here in the forest area near the heritage site and in Gia Rai as a material to bind the bricks together. For the bricks, we have carefully researched and come to choose a type of brick that is not completely true to Cham bricks, but they are compatible and suitable for the requirements of the restoration process”. The researchers assessed that My Son Sanctuary is an outstanding cultural heritage, containing many mysteries about a brilliant period of development of the Cham kingdom. The group of researchers hopes that when the restoration work for the My Son relic complex is completed, more and more information about this special temple complex will be gradually deciphered. According to the plan, the remaining 3 towers of the G tower group will continue to be restored and completed in September 2013. The experiences gained through the completion of the restoration of the G tower point will be recorded and continued to be studied for application to the remaining 8 tower points of the My Son Sanctuary. However, in June, the G tower cluster will still be opened early for visitors to visit during the Quang Nam Heritage Festival taking place from June 21 to 26.
