According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the General Administration of Customs of China has officially approved AVANEST Vietnam Nutrition Joint Stock Company to export bird's nest to this market.

Specifically, on November 3, the General Department of Customs of China issued an official note approving Avanest Vietnam Nutrition Joint Stock Company (code 0901101740) to export 2 types of products that the company registered, which are clean bird's nest and ready-to-eat bird's nest jars, to China from October 20, 2023.
On November 7, the Vietnamese Embassy in China sent Official Dispatch No. TCOCD/1843 to the Department of Animal Health to convey the Official Dispatch of the General Department of Customs of China informing about this decision.
According to the Department of Animal Health (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development), up to now, 45 enterprises have registered to export bird's nests to China and have been guided by the Department of Animal Health to monitor disease safety and food safety according to China's requirements in the Protocol.
Of these, 9 enterprises have completed their export registration dossiers and submitted them to the General Administration of Customs of China for consideration. For other enterprises, the General Administration of Customs of China is continuing to review and evaluate the dossiers and will notify them once the results meet the requirements.
The Department of Animal Health has issued a document with detailed instructions on the process (7 steps) of registering to export bird's nests from Vietnam to China to relevant businesses and units; issued instructions and organized disease surveillance and food safety in accordance with the provisions of the Protocol.
The Department established dozens of working groups to visit localities and enterprises to guide, support, and inspect the implementation of the Protocol; guide and support Vietnamese enterprises in preparing documents and opening export registration accounts on the CIFER System; standardize production processes in accordance with the requirements of the Protocol; guide and support Vietnamese enterprises in preparing for the General Administration of Customs of China to organize online assessments; notify results and provide guidance on how to overcome them after online assessments.
According to statistics from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, currently 42/63 provinces nationwide raise swiftlets. The number of swiftlet houses nationwide has increased significantly in recent years. The localities with the fastest growing number of swiftlet houses are Kien Giang, Khanh Hoa, and Lam Dong. The province with the largest number of swiftlet houses is currently Kien Giang (2,995 swiftlet houses), followed by Binh Dinh (1,722 swiftlet houses).
Economic regions with 100% of provinces raising swiftlets include: Mekong Delta (13 provinces), Southeast (6 provinces), South Central Coast (8 provinces) and Central Highlands (5 provinces) with 100%. Of which, the most is Mekong Delta with 10,572 swiftlet houses, accounting for 44.67%; followed by South Central Coast with 5,965 swiftlet houses, accounting for 25.21%.
