According to CNBC news agency, former US President Donald Trump is expected to appear in Miami federal court at 3 p.m. on June 13 (local time) for his first appearance in the case of being charged with illegally retaining national security documents.

Donald Trump has declared his innocence and vowed to continue his campaign to regain the White House in the 2024 election. Trump's legal troubles are not believed to have affected his popularity with Republican voters. A Reuters/Ipsos poll released on June 12 showed that 81% of Republicans believe the charges against Trump are "politically motivated."
Before the trial, former US President Donald Trump posted on the social network Truth Social a statement that he would appoint a special prosecutor to investigate President Joe Biden's family if he is re-elected in the 2024 White House race.
In late March, Donald Trump became the first former US president to be indicted on charges of falsifying business records to pay for cover-up of unfavorable information during the 2016 presidential election. The former US president also faces investigations into his role in the Capitol Hill riots in January 2021 and his efforts to change the results of the 2020 presidential election in Georgia.
