Early this morning (February 13), the SAR-273 ship of the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center on duty in Khanh Hoa brought Park Yechan (24 years old, Korean nationality) to shore and transferred him to the hospital.

Mr. Park Yechan is the deputy captain of the Sao Unison ship (Panama nationality) from Brazil to China. Yesterday, when the ship passed through Khanh Hoa waters, about 174 nautical miles from Nha Trang, Mr. Park Yechan suffered from acute appendicitis, severe abdominal pain, risk of peritonitis, and poor health.

The captain asked for help from the mainland. The Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center in Khanh Hoa immediately dispatched a large ship and a medical team to rescue the people.

Two foreign sailors injured at sea were rescued. Injured in an accident on a cargo ship while passing through Khanh Hoa waters, two foreign sailors were brought ashore and transferred to the hospital.
