Jordon Ibe calls Klopp "hypocritical". |
In an interview with The Sports Agents , Ibe revealed for the first time what happened that led to his departure from Liverpool. Ibe shared: “When Klopp first arrived, we talked, at first everything was good. He had a habit of patting me on the head when I played well, showing that he was very pleased and wanted me to maintain that form into the new season."
“But things changed when they signed a new player, and so our relationship was not the same,” the Liverpool academy graduate revealed. “I felt he didn’t keep his promise, or was just acting before.”
Ibe added that coach Klopp often showed satisfaction with him, whether he was a starter or a substitute. But later the player realized that coach Klopp never considered him an important part of the team.
"When I tried to talk more about my future at Liverpool with Klopp, his answer was just 'I think you should leave'. It was very harsh and there was no explanation," Ibe emphasized. Ibe was once a promising young talent in English football, scoring his first professional goal at the age of 15.
Thanks to that, he was recruited by Liverpool for £500,000 in December 2011. After developing at Liverpool's academy, Ibe made his debut for the first team of "The Kop" in 2013. In the 2015/16 season, under the guidance of Jurgen Klopp, Ibe also often played.
However, in the summer of 2016, he was unexpectedly sold to Bournemouth for £15 million. Although the transfer contract had a buy-back clause, Liverpool never activated this right. Because Ibe then went into a slump. Ibe is now playing for Hungerford Town, a semi-professional team in England.
