Former German Vice Chancellor Philipp Rösler becomes member of Vietravel Airlines Board of Directors

On October 23, Vietravel Airlines held its 2023 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders with important personnel announcements.

Specifically, Mr. Vu Duc Bien, Member of the Board of Directors and General Director of Vietravel Airlines, will not continue to participate in the Board of Directors for the 2022-2027 term due to family reasons from October 23, 2023.

The Congress elected two new members of the Board of Directors for the 2022 - 2027 term, Mr. Philipp Rösler and Mr. Doan Hai Dang.

Mr. Philipp Rösler is the former Vice Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany and is currently Chairman of the VinaCapital Venture International Advisory Board. Mr. Philipp Rösler officially became an independent member of the Board of Directors for the 2022-2027 term of Vietravel Airlines from October 23, 2023.

He is responsible for advising Vietravel Airlines on strategic orientation in expanding international cooperation and is a bridge between the airline and investors in Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Mr. Doan Hai Dang is the General Director of World Trans Services Joint Stock Company. He is a new shareholder and member of the Board of Directors of Vietravel Airlines.

In addition, Vietravel Airlines also passed many important personnel decisions within the group. However, Mr. Philipp Rösler is still the person who receives the most public attention.

Dr. Philipp Rösler was born in 1973, he is a former German Vice Chancellor of Vietnamese origin. He has held many important positions in the German Federal political system such as: Vice Chancellor and Minister of Economics and Technology, Minister of Health, Chairman of the Free Democratic Party FDP.

After leaving German politics, Mr. Philipp Rösler has many activities towards his homeland Vietnam and officially became an independent member of the Board of Directors for the 2022-2027 term of Vietravel Airlines.

Mr. Philipp Rösler has more than 30 years of experience in the economic field, having held many important positions at large corporations around the world such as Siemens, Deutsche Bahn and Lufthansa.

Mr. Philipp Rösler is currently Chairman of the VinaCapital Ventures International Advisory Board.
