Effective implementation of Resolution 09-NQ/TW
After the 9th Politburo issued Resolution 09-NQ/TW on January 8, 2002 on strengthening the Party's leadership over the work of Vietnamese veterans in the new revolutionary period (referred to as Resolution 09-NQ/TW), the Standing Committee of the Ha Tinh Provincial Party Committee promptly disseminated the information to the province's core cadres.
The Provincial Veterans Association has proactively coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front and political and social organizations to advise and propose the issuance of many directive documents, thoroughly disseminating the content of the resolution to the people, members, civil servants and employees throughout the province, contributing to the successful implementation of many important local political tasks.

In 20 years of implementing Resolution 09-NQ/TW, the organization and activities of the Veterans Association at all levels have been increasingly deepened and improved in quality, making an important contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Veterans are one of the forces that have performed well in the tasks of building new rural areas, civilized urban areas, sustainable poverty reduction, and educating the younger generation...
With the motto of "clear people, clear work, clear results", the association at all levels has promoted the movement of "giving ideas, donating labor, donating assets", "Veterans help each other do business". Currently, the whole province has nearly 4,500 economic models owned by veterans, generating hundreds of millions of VND/year; the poverty rate of veteran households has decreased from 16.8% in 2002 to 0.98% in 2022.

The work of building and consolidating the association's organization is focused on in conjunction with the task of innovation, improving the quality of activities, meeting the requirements of the tasks in the new period. From 47,600 members in the 2002-2007 term, up to now, the whole province has 78,650 members.
On average, every year, over 98% of members achieve the title of "Exemplary Veteran" and "Cultural Family"; many members are honored and rewarded for "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle"; thousands of members are elected to Party committees and People's Councils at all levels...
Deputy Secretary of Cam Xuyen District Party Committee Ha Thi Viet Anh affirmed that the Party Committee and government regularly pay attention, direct and create conditions for the veterans association to promote its role in performing political tasks in the locality.
Ha Tinh veterans are always steadfast, have strong political will, actively fight and refute the wrong views of hostile forces, participate in protecting the Party, government and political system. The provincial Veterans Association has affirmed its role as an effective socio-political organization, trusted, recognized and highly appreciated by the Party Committee, government and people.

To continue promoting the role of veterans in the new era, the Chairman of the Vietnam Veterans Association requested that the Ha Tinh Veterans Association must always be loyal, united, exemplary, and propagate to all classes of people to comply with the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws.
Along with that, building a strong association; being creative and flexible in association work, proposing programs and action plans suitable to conditions and political tasks in the new situation.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Tran The Dung praised the results achieved by the Provincial Veterans Association in 20 years of implementing Resolution 09-NQ/TW; at the same time, affirmed that those results fully reflected the tasks, functions, roles and contributions of veterans in the cause of protecting, building and developing the province.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee suggested that in the coming time, the Provincial Veterans Association must closely follow the Resolution of the 7th Provincial Veterans Association Congress, the 7th National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2022 - 2027; at the same time, fully and seriously absorb the instructions of the leaders of the Vietnam Veterans Association at the conference.
In the coming time, it is recommended that the Veterans Association pay more attention to Party building and developing Party members at the grassroots level; proactively advise Party committees and authorities on arising issues. Along with that, it is necessary to grasp the policies in the process of implementing major projects in the locality to promote the exemplary and leading role; actively propagate and mobilize people of all walks of life to comply with the policies, laws of the Party and State...
Veterans must always be the core force in the fight against and refuting the false arguments of hostile forces; strengthen coordination with the Vietnam Fatherland Front to perform the role of social supervision and criticism...
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also hopes that the Vietnam Veterans Association will continue to accompany and closely direct the Ha Tinh Veterans Association to maximize its role and operational effectiveness in the new situation.
