On April 15, the 12th stage of the Ho Chi Minh City Television Cup (HTV) - Ton Dong A 2025 took place on a 179 km long route from Quang Ngai to Quy Nhon (Binh Dinh). The ideal weather created favorable conditions for the racers to compete with all their might, bringing about fierce breakthroughs.
Right from the start of the stage, a group of about 10 riders from strong teams such as Military Zone 7, Ho Chi Minh City New Group, Pelio Kenda Dong Nai, Binh Minh Binh Duong Plastic, Hanoi , Dopagan Dong Thap... successfully separated from the group. Nguyen Huynh Lan (Military Zone 7) excellently finished first in Sprint 1, while Nguyen Truc Xinh (Ho Chi Minh City New Group) and Huynh Lan took the lead in Sprint 2 and 3 respectively.
Despite creating a gap of more than 3 minutes with the large group led by yellow jersey Mikhail Fokin (Loc Troi An Giang Group), the leading group could not maintain the advantage. When 13 km from the finish line, the large group gradually caught up as the riders in front were exhausted.
Seizing the opportunity, teams 620 Vinh Long Agriculture and 620 Chau Thoi Vinh Long accelerated to pull the race to the finish line. In the thrilling sprint in Quy Nhon, foreign player Nick Kergozou (620 Vinh Long Agriculture) made a perfect sprint, reaching the finish line first, marking the 7th stage victory and continuing to hold the prestigious Green Jersey, Nguyen Van Binh (HCMC New Group) followed closely but only finished second.
A large number of Binh Dinh spectators poured into the streets to cheer enthusiastically, creating a vibrant atmosphere at the competition venues and finish areas.
At the end of the stage, the main titles remained unchanged: Mikhail Fokin kept the Yellow Jersey and the Red Dot Jersey (king of the mountain), Le Ngoc Son (Loc Troi An Giang Group) kept the Orange Jersey, and Pham Le Xuan Loc (Military Zone 7) continued to hold the White Jersey.
At the award ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Anh Son - Director of Quy Nhon Mechanical Company Limited, distributor of Ton Dong A - awarded a scholarship of 20 million VND to support disadvantaged students in the locality, spreading the humanistic meaning of the race.
On April 16, the racers will rest in Quy Nhon before entering the challenging 166km stage 13 from Quy Nhon to Pleiku (Gia Lai), with two passes An Khe and Mang Yang to begin conquering the Central Highlands.
