The book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is an important theoretical and practical basis for foreign affairs in the new situation.

On November 21, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hall, the book introduction ceremony of Building and developing a comprehensive and modern Vietnamese foreign affairs and diplomacy, imbued with the identity of "Vietnamese bamboo" by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong took place.

Attending and directing the ceremony were: Comrade Truong Thi Mai - Politburo member, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission; Comrade Nguyen Xuan Thang, Politburo member, Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics; Comrade Le Minh Hung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chief of the Central Office; Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's Propaganda Department.

The ceremony was chaired by comrades: Comrade Truong Thi Mai, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission; Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's Propaganda and Education Commission; Comrade Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission; Comrade Bui Thanh Son, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Comrade Vu Trong Lam, Director - Editor-in-Chief of the National Political Publishing House Truth.

The ceremony was attended by a large number of delegates and guests representing the leaders of the Central Party Committees, Central ministries and branches, the General Secretary's office; leaders of the Central Propaganda Department, the Steering Committee for External Information Work, the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Political Publishing House Truth; scientists, research experts; representatives of agencies and functional units of the Central Foreign Affairs Committee, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Political Publishing House Truth. Notably, the ceremony was connected to the connecting points at 94 Vietnamese representative agencies abroad.

The book Building and developing a comprehensive and modern Vietnamese foreign affairs and diplomacy, imbued with the identity of "Vietnamese bamboo", selects a number of typical speeches, articles, addresses, interviews, letters, telegrams... of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on foreign affairs and diplomacy, expressing the consistent and continuous ideology of the Party, headed by the General Secretary, on the results, achievements and Vietnam's foreign affairs and diplomacy policy in the coming time.

The book consists of three parts: Part 1: The important role and great contribution of foreign affairs in the cause of national construction and defense, including the latest overview article and 7 speeches by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at the Party Central Committee conferences, diplomatic conferences, and national foreign affairs conferences. The articles and speeches of the General Secretary demonstrate the strategic thinking of the head of our Party on Vietnam's foreign policy and diplomacy.

Part two: Vietnam's foreign relations for independence, self-reliance, peace, friendship, cooperation and development, including 78 speeches, articles, addresses, interviews, letters, telegrams... of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong at bilateral and multilateral diplomatic activities and forums, demonstrating the close and harmonious coordination between the pillars of foreign affairs: party diplomacy, state diplomacy and people-to-people diplomacy.

Part 3: Foreign affairs and diplomacy imprints, including 52 opinions of experts, politicians, diplomats, researchers, and international friends on the role and contributions of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong in the formation and development of Vietnam's comprehensive and modern foreign policy, imbued with the identity of "Vietnamese bamboo". Memories, impressions, and stories of ambassadors, officials working in foreign affairs and diplomacy, journalists, and overseas Vietnamese who accompanied and met General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong during his visits and work at home and abroad show their affection, respect, and trust in the leadership of the Party and the General Secretary.

The articles, thoughts and guiding viewpoints of the General Secretary in the book are drawn from rich practice, demonstrating the vision, clear-sighted intelligence, close, decisive, comprehensive and convincing leadership of the General Secretary; contributing to clarifying the theoretical thinking of our Party on foreign affairs, perfecting the theoretical system and practical foundation on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam. The book is a testament to the maturity, development of thinking and achievements of Vietnam's foreign affairs and diplomacy.

The book is a very necessary handbook to help Party committees, Party organizations, sectors, levels, cadres, Party members, and cadres working in foreign affairs to grasp and effectively implement foreign affairs work in the coming time.

Speaking at the book introduction ceremony, Politburo member, Standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Head of the Party Central Committee's Organization Commission Truong Thi Mai said that the book Building and developing a comprehensive and modern Vietnamese foreign affairs and diplomacy, imbued with the identity of "Vietnamese bamboo", has added the field of foreign affairs to the General Secretary's theoretical book series, along with many important books that have been published.

Previously, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong published the books: "Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Vietnam"; "Resolutely and persistently fighting corruption and negativity, contributing to building our Party and State increasingly clean and strong"; "The whole country is united, seizing every opportunity, overcoming all difficulties and challenges, determined to successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress"; "Some issues on military guidelines and national defense strategies in the cause of building and defending the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland in the new period"; and recently the book "Promoting the tradition of great national unity, building our country increasingly rich, civilized and happy".

According to Ms. Truong Thi Mai, the book by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong on foreign affairs was launched at a very important time. The publication of the book further shows that our Party always considers foreign affairs as essential, regular, and an important task of the entire political system, with a great role and contribution to the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

“The General Secretary’s book is a guideline for the Party’s guidelines and policies, an important theoretical and practical basis for foreign affairs in the new situation; affirming that the General Secretary and the Party always attach importance to foreign affairs, considering it one of the important driving forces in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland,” said Ms. Truong Thi Mai.

At the ceremony, Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son shared: "The book is truly a valuable document in theory and practice, a valuable handbook on foreign affairs for the foreign affairs team, sectors and levels in the entire political system."

According to Minister Bui Thanh Son, for foreign affairs agencies, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong's book "is a great source of encouragement, adding strong motivation, urging the team of foreign affairs and diplomatic officials to continue to make efforts and persistently contribute to the glorious foreign affairs cause of our Party and State, determined to build a comprehensive, modern, strong Vietnamese foreign affairs and diplomacy, imbued with the identity of Vietnamese bamboo".

Along with publishing the paper book, the Truth National Political Publishing House also announced the electronic version of the book, serving readers for free on the Publishing House's website: ww.stbook.vn.
