The end of the year, when “a thousand flowers are in full bloom”, is also the time when check-in spots in Thanh Hoa “bloom” to serve tourists. This activity usually takes place at destinations that can be visited during the day and do not use accommodation services.

At the end of the year, check-in tourism is on the rise Tourist Vuong Hien Luong with a check-in corner at the crescent lake, Trung Tuc Vuong Le Lai temple (Ngoc Lac).

Ham Rong Ward (Thanh Hoa City) with beautiful roads and fresh air is chosen by many tourists as a check-in destination in autumn and winter. Coming here, along with checking in at the historic Ham Rong Bridge, the destination creates "nostalgic" photo angles in Dong Son ancient village (Ham Rong Ward) which always attracts "believers" who are passionate about traveling.

Only about 5km from the center of Thanh Hoa city, Dong Son ancient village always brings visitors a peaceful feeling, not noisy and crowded. The locations that are often chosen by many tourists to check-in when coming here are the ancient houses, the alleys: Nhan, Nghia, Tri, Dung; Dong Son pagoda (also known as Pham Thong pagoda, Van Am pagoda). In which, Mr. Luong Trong Due's house is an ancient wooden house, with typical 19th century architecture, still relatively intact, often visited by tourists. At the end of the year, there are days when Mr. Luong The Tap's family (son of Mr. Luong Trong Due) welcomes more than 100 tourists to check-in.

Mr. Luong The Tap said: “In recent years, the number of visitors coming to check-in has increased, especially at the end of the year and the beginning of the new year. Each group of visitors usually stops by to visit and take pictures for about 1 hour. To facilitate people to visit, my family has developed more spaces for collecting antiques, taking care of gardens, and miniature landscapes in the garden, bringing a cool green space. Currently, visitors come to visit and check-in at the ancient house completely free of charge, but through tourism activities, visitors attach the location of the destination when posting photos on social networks, which is also one more opportunity for the cultural value of Dong Son ancient village to be promoted and preserved over time.”

Also on the journey to Ham Rong ward, visitors certainly cannot miss Tien Son Cave Tourist Area. Here, fresh flowers are grown all year round, with a variety of eye-catching and attractive check-in corners. The time when the number of visitors coming to check-in is highest usually starts from November when flowers such as daisies, chrysanthemums, purple lavender, wild sunflowers... begin to bloom.

Director of Tien Son Cave Tourist Area Cao Thanh Nam said: “On weekends, the number of visitors coming here to check-in can reach up to 300 visitors/day. It is forecasted that this year the number of visitors will be much higher, because the flower growing areas serving familiar check-in tourists such as the Ma River area because the alluvial land along the Red River (Hanoi) this year has been greatly affected by recent storms. To contribute to extending the time to welcome guests and develop low-season tourism, we pay special attention to welcoming and serving guests. Regularly taking care of the landscape of the destination, intercropping flowers to ensure green space, fresh flowers covering the space. Right after this daisy season, we are ready for the Tet flower season, meeting the check-in needs of visitors”.

It is known that in the past 2 years, along with the domestic tourist market, Tien Son Cave Tourist Area has welcomed a number of visitors from the Northern and Southern provinces. Coming here, visitors often spend at least half a day to check-in, especially in spaces and miniature landscapes such as daisy gardens, wild sunflower hills... Ms. Tran Thi Thu Trang from Dong Nai said: "One of the hobbies of women when traveling is to check-in at destinations and beautiful scenery. Coming to Tien Son Cave, we were really surprised that in the heart of Thanh Hoa City there was such an attractive destination. With just one destination, we had many beautiful photo angles, immersed in nature and enjoyed the peaceful feeling when experiencing urban tourism in a different way".

From the center of Thanh Hoa city, the transportation system is convenient for tourists to reach the province's spiritual and cultural sites at the end of the year. At this time, the weather is often sunny and dry, quite favorable for tourists to have beautiful photo angles when visiting some relic sites such as: Lam Kinh Historical Relic Site, Le Hoan Temple (Tho Xuan), Trung Tuc Vuong Le Lai Temple (Ngoc Lac), Ho Dynasty Citadel Cultural Heritage (Vinh Loc)... With ancient architecture, airy and clean space, it brings visitors meaningful check-in corners, bearing the cultural imprint of each destination. Tourist Vuong Hien Luong (Thanh Hoa City) said: "Because I work in the culture, sports and tourism sector, at the end of the year I often spend time visiting and checking in at the province's historical sites. Most recently, some friends and I checked in at Lam Kinh Historical Site, Nua - Am Tien Temple and Trung Tuc Vuong Le Lai Temple. To have beautiful photo angles, choosing the right outfit is essential when coming here. Every time I post a photo on social media, I always tag (attach) the name and location of the destination, with the desire to spread the message "Thanh Hoa Tourism - Four Seasons of Fragrance" more strongly.

Although it is short-term tourism, the revenue it brings to destinations is not large, but check-in tourism is bringing positive effects in propaganda and promotion of destination images. And when the trend of check-in tourism at the end of the year develops, the image of Thanh Hoa tourism with its own beauty in the "low season" is gradually being positioned. However, in order for check-in tourism to be truly attractive and professional, improving the quality of service and tourism services at destinations needs to be paid more attention, aiming at complete experiences in every moment of tourists.
