He is a shining example in volunteer activities, especially the blood donation movement and helping disadvantaged students in his poor hometown of Quang Tri.
When mentioning teacher Nguyen Chon Cam (born in 1986) who is working at Vinh Dinh High School (Trieu Phong district, Quang Tri province), many generations of students immediately remember a compassionate heart, a heart always ready to share.
Sowing seeds of kindness
Ever since he was a student at Hue University of Education, Cam has actively participated in the humanitarian blood donation movement. Understanding the value of every drop of blood to patients in need of saving their lives, he did not hesitate to participate and mobilize his friends and colleagues to join hands to contribute.

Since 2005, when he was a first-year student, Cam has registered to participate in voluntary blood donation. He confided: "Donating blood is to save people, to help patients when they are sick or have accidents. I think it is a good thing that I need to do, should do and have been doing since I was a student until now. In the future, it will be the same." Not only did he donate blood at the school where Cam was studying, but he also volunteered to donate blood directly at Hue Central Hospital. At the same time, Cam voluntarily registered on the list of live blood banks of Hue Central Hospital so that when the hospital suddenly lacked blood, he was ready to go and transfuse blood directly to patients. During his time as a student in Hue, Cam donated blood 7 times. Not only did he simply donate blood, Cam also proactively connected with volunteer organizations, helping to spread the spirit of blood donation in the community. That enthusiasm followed him throughout the following years, when he became a teacher.
Realizing that his role was not limited to teaching physics, Mr. Nguyen Chon Cam actively participated in the Youth Union after transferring from A Tuc High School (Huong Hoa District) to Vinh Dinh High School and was trusted by the school board to be the Secretary of the Youth Union for 8 years. With this position, he was even more motivated to organize many meaningful social activities, attracting everyone's participation.
He is not only a pioneer in donating blood, but also directly encourages teachers and students to participate. The propaganda sessions about the benefits of blood donation and the touching stories about patients whose lives were saved thanks to timely blood supplies have motivated many young people. To date, Mr. Cam has donated blood 33 times and has encouraged others to donate more than 500 units of blood to sustain the lives of unfortunate people who are in dire need of blood transfusions.
Blossoming in barren land
In addition to his role as Secretary of the School Youth Union, Mr. Nguyen Chon Cam has also taken on the responsibility of Chairman of the School's Red Cross Society since 2015 with volunteer activities, typically the "Lighting up Dreams" program launched by the Vinh Dinh High School Youth Union. The program mobilized contributions from teachers, students, staff, alumni and philanthropists with support ranging from 500,000 VND to 2 million VND, awarding 42 scholarships each year. Over the past 10 years, the program has helped more than 400 students in difficult circumstances, orphans, and disadvantaged students.
In addition, Mr. Cam also organizes many activities for people in difficult areas. Notably, the program "Border affection" aims to support primary and secondary school students in difficult areas of Dakrong and Huong Hoa districts (Quang Tri). At the beginning of each school year, in many ways, the Youth Union of Vinh Dinh High School has given scholarships, books, and clothes to students in mountainous areas, helping them have more motivation to continue going to school.
In the 2022-2023 school year, Mr. Cam also called for support for A Tuc Kindergarten with 3 sets of music speakers, worth more than 10 million VND, to contribute to improving the quality of teaching. Also in that year, when he heard that the family of Ho Thi Loan - a Van Kieu ethnic group, a student at Quang Tri Province Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities - was unfortunately in a fire, their house burned down, he mobilized and gave gifts to support her family worth more than 10 million VND.
The work of Mr. Nguyen Chon Cam does not stop at numbers or charity programs, but more importantly, the spirit of humanity that he has sown in the hearts of generations of students. Many of his students later continued those acts, becoming active volunteers in community activities.
"Not only is he an active volunteer and propagandist with the noble act of donating blood to save people, Mr. Nguyen Chon Cam is also a good example of expertise and scientific research. His actions are truly admirable, contributing to spreading the value of the message "Donate blood - give life" - Mr. Duong Manh Hung, Principal of Vinh Dinh High School, expressed his gratitude.
