Speaking at the event, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son commended the Hai Phong City government and trade union for their continued attention to the lives of officials, civil servants, and workers over the years. In 2024, Hai Phong City was one of the localities heavily affected by Typhoon No. 3 (Yagi), but the government, people, and workers still made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved impressive results.

The Deputy Prime Minister commended Hai Phong for achieving a GRDP growth rate of 11.01% in 2024, marking the 10th consecutive year of double-digit growth. Hai Phong places great emphasis on caring for and supporting war veterans, the poor, workers, and laborers in difficult circumstances, with the joint efforts and contributions of both employers and philanthropists.
By the end of 2024, Hai Phong will have no poor households according to the national poverty standard for the 2021-2025 period; over 20,000 people with meritorious services are receiving monthly preferential allowances.

Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son expressed his hope that Hai Phong would continue to be a leading locality in socio-economic development; a center and growth pole in the Red River Delta.
At the event, the Deputy Prime Minister, along with leaders of Hai Phong City and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, presented 100 Tet gifts to disadvantaged workers, policy beneficiary families, and poor households in the area.

Immediately after the program, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and presented gifts to Heroic Vietnamese Mother Tran Thi Be, 105 years old, who has four sons who are martyrs; and war invalid 1/4 Le The Vi in Hai An district, Hai Phong city.
