The issue that received much attention from delegates and many discussions was the unification of the names and governing bodies of provincial press agencies after the merger, because currently, Party press agencies are under the management of the Provincial Party Committee, Radio and Television Stations are under the management of the Provincial People's Committee. The financial mechanisms of the units before the merger, consolidation are also different. Therefore, delegates suggested that the Journalists Association should advise and propose to have a unified model and name throughout the country.
Along with that, the Journalists Association needs to pay attention to training and professional training for reporters to suit the activities of press agencies after mergers and acquisitions.
At the conference, Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association Tran Trong Dung highly appreciated the performance of the Journalists Associations in the Southeast and Ho Chi Minh City. He also said that the Vietnam Journalists Association supports and is resolutely implementing the streamlining of the apparatus in the spirit of Resolution 18-NQ/TW. The Central Committee of the Association is working to reduce the number of focal points from 11 to 4-5 focal points. Of course, many issues will arise in the process of implementation that need to be resolved.
