At the press conference, the leaders of the General Statistics Office informed about some socio-economic development results of the province in 2023.
Accordingly, economic growth (GRDP) in 2023 is estimated to increase by 8.05%, higher than the growth rate in 2022 (up 2.54%), ranking 15th in the country and the highest in the North Central region. The total product in the province at current prices in 2023 is estimated at 99,686 billion VND, ranking 33rd out of 63 provinces and cities nationwide and ranking 3rd in the North Central region.

The agriculture, forestry and fishery sector continued to grow. Agricultural production was successful; the spring crop achieved the highest productivity and output ever. The total output of grain for the year reached over 646,000 tons, up 4.76% over the previous year.
Livestock production remained stable; total output of live meat for slaughter was estimated at 109,496 tons, total poultry flock reached over 10 million heads. Forestry and fishery production continued to remain stable.
Industrial production activities regain growth momentum. The industrial production index in 2023 is estimated to increase by 7.41% compared to 2022.
The production and business situation of enterprises is assessed to have changed more positively than before. However, in addition to favorable factors, many enterprises still face many difficulties and challenges. In 2023, the whole province established 1,190 new enterprises and affiliated units. During the year, the province approved the investment policy of 18 domestic investment projects with a total registered capital of VND 1,727 billion and 2 foreign investment projects with a total capital of 70 million USD.
In 2023, the trade and service sector is considered a bright spot in the recovery of the provincial economy. Total retail sales of goods and consumer service revenue are estimated at VND 71,765 billion, up 13.97% over the previous year. The price situation is basically under control; the average annual consumer price index increased by 1.63%. Export turnover in 2023 is estimated at more than 2.4 billion USD, the highest ever. Import turnover is estimated at 3.6 billion USD, up 5.65% over the previous year.
State budget revenue as of December 15 reached over VND16,875 billion (down 2.63% over the same period). State budget expenditure as of December 15 reached over VND22,371 billion, up 17.23% over the same period.
Total social investment capital in the province in 2023 is estimated at over VND 51,124 billion, up 26.47% over the previous year. Total mobilized capital of credit institutions in Ha Tinh is estimated at VND 99,950 billion as of December 31, up 18.6% over the end of 2022. Outstanding loans are estimated at VND 95,150 billion as of December 31, up more than 9% over the end of 2022.

The number of people with jobs and labor export in 2023 is 23,125 people, an increase of 0.57% compared to 2022.
