Provincial Customs Department removes difficulties for businesses

On October 29, the Quang Ninh Provincial Customs Department held a dialogue conference with businesses to discuss solutions to remove difficulties, restore production and stabilize import-export activities.

At the conference, import-export enterprises in the province all assessed: In the past time, Quang Ninh province in general, including the Customs sector, has implemented many synchronous, drastic and effective solutions to promptly remove difficulties, helping enterprises promote production and business activities in the area.

However, the consequences of the recent storm No. 3 have seriously affected the lives and production of many businesses, including over 30 import-export enterprises in the area suffering losses of about 1,000 billion VND. The main losses were in damaged imported raw materials and machinery; damaged products manufactured under the form of processing and export production.

In order to facilitate import-export activities of enterprises, especially to overcome the impact of storm No. 3, at the conference, leaders of the Provincial Customs Department discussed, answered and resolved recommendations and proposals of enterprises related to tax reduction due to damaged input materials; arrangement of warehouse and yard space; information connection, processing of records on the National Single Window Portal system, and a number of issues related to localities, departments and branches such as labor shortage, reduction of personal income tax, electricity connection, dredging of the channel to Cai Lan port.

Also at the conference, the Provincial Customs Department disseminated to businesses a number of policies and regulations related to import and export, customs management regulations, and disseminated digital transformation work.

By the end of mid-October 2024, the import-export revenue of the Provincial Customs Department reached over 14,300 billion VND, an increase of 8% over the same period in 2023, reaching 110% of the target assigned by the province at the beginning of the year and reaching nearly 90% of the target of 16,600 billion VND. To achieve the highest revenue results, along with promoting administrative reform and customs modernization, the Provincial Customs Department also identified continuing to remove obstacles and accompany businesses as an important solution to attract and nurture revenue sources. Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial Customs Department has organized 13 Customs-business dialogue and consultation conferences, with 340 businesses participating; received and directly resolved 42 problems at the conferences.
